I had a 1971 purple Challenger R/T with a 383 and 4 speed. The Mopar only half inch thick Hurst shifter rods are fairly collectable. The Hurst aftermarket Hurst Competition Plus shifter had 0.375"" shifter rods and the Mr. Gasket shifter had 0.430" shifter rods. Even with the fat Mopar shifter rods, racers would weld additional rods along them to make them even stiffer, as the Challenger shifter rods are very long.

Why not take U bolts out move the rear end , then drop rear of springs all the way to ground then put rear end on top of springs.. Shouldn't have to remove the whole spring on either side.

my install attempt was an epic fail ! lower torx bolt was impossible to remove and the head stripped out after moving half way out . now bracket cannot be seated correctly and tailgate is misaligned and grinds when moving it up or down. ordered new bolts and anchor plate. Will probably have to cut existing bolt. also damaged the paint on the tailgate during the process. brand new truck 😢 … just terrible. I have used aftermarket external dampeners (DeeZee) and never had an issue or problem …

To make it more easy next time don’t drop the fuel tank just pull the spring around the axle losses up the bolt that’s closer to the cab works every time😎

Ne careful there are sellers mislabeling. There's a different width between 2011-2019. 2020 - 2022 is a wider spread overall and the letters on the newer are a little shorter. Just a heads up

I use full synthetic oil and change it every 5k miles and I still have 40%-50% oil life left. I don’t care what the oil manufacturer says, I don’t like going longer than 5k miles on an oil change.
