Hey, does anybody know, where Jarlath is and what he is doing? It has been 9 years since he issued this iconic folk album.

If this can be encouraging in any sort of way, know that I discovered your music in a cd that I randomly won called "Deisel... Ready..." And I loved it. And this song is very nice. I love how it gets more and more powerful by the minute :)

I almost stopped it at the beginning, due to the weird & ugly intro. I'm glad I didn't. The rest is wonderful!

Weird and ugly? It sounds like a clock, which is beautiful given the theme of the song and its driving pace

Great song well sung. But vid really makes it look a bit of over produced shite.

I was blessed to see Jarlath Henderson live in 2017 in Ireland. Every song on this album is so haunting and beautiful.

i don't understand a single thing he's saying but it is truly amazing!
@4Mr.Crowley22 жыл бұрын
Really? “for a faint-hearted soldier never gained a battlefield…” He is singing about his girl, Molly, who betrayed him for a lad of “higher degree” (more money etc). He leaves for America at the end of the song since he is heartbroken and is seeking a new life. Is it that difficult to comprehend? Compared to the hideously auto-tuned and digitally manipulated singers of today’s pop music this sounds extremely clear and the lyrics are pronounced with precise diction. If you really “don’t understand a single thing he’s saying” (he is singing in English and his accent isn’t even thick) look up the lyrics as they are essential to the meaning of the song.

Love the way the moog passes through the major chord on Edmund. Sinister effect in a dark song.

Love this song and rendition. In the tradition of the great Dick Gaughan perhaps, from this outsider's point of view. The difference between folk and country music?
