Nice content, nice workflow 😊 I just always wonder, why Lightroom CC has all functions of lightroom Classic, except the color coding -_- This is so annoying for me, because I use colors to say if a picture is done editing (green), In progress (yellow), if it's just a memory (bleu), memory with editing done (purple), or NSFW/nudity etc (red). This way I can go through my library really fast, all the pictures without color label haven't been sort out or worked on, and I can hide RED pictures when showing stuff to clients or friends 🤪

Hi Brendan, many thanks for your video, very helpful. I travel a lot with photographing. Coming from the field with hundreds or thousands (wildlife!) of photos so far I backup with the hep of a MacBook Air on ssd´s. Being the happy owner of the latest iPad I will test your workflow very soon. My only concern is step 2: syncing in a hotel etc hundreds of MB. Even over night that doesn’t work reliable from my experience. Option: So - if I download my photos into my iPad (1 Tb as well :-) with LR and disable syncing until I am at home - what happens? Need to test that … Frank

Nice review. I came here from the Lowepro Whistler review. This is much more like a backpacker designed pack. The 3 mesh pockets on the side are the best design for a hiking backpack, IMO. I think I’m gonna get one! Unless you know of anything else that’s better. But it looks great to me

Thanks. I have a similar workflow although I often shoot in studio. I use an iPad app called Cascable that allows me to shoot tethered to my iPad. My clients love it since they can easily review the shots on the touchscreen. Once I have the clients selects I transfer the files to Lightroom Mobile and eventually to LrC. I only wish that Adobe would make LR for iPad with the same feature set as LrC. The most annoying one is that I can’t import presets on the iPad, I have to open up LR creative cloud on a spare computer and load the preset there so they sync with LR for iPad.

I agree and really don't understand splitting Lightroom on desktop into two different products. Plus, I would love to see the new AI based denoise come to the iPad. There is no reason the newest iPads with Apple silicon couldn't run that feature.

Just recently picked up a Ulanzi Sling Bag and had no idea the Falcam existed. One thing I miss about my peak design sling is that it had a dedicated strap to attach the peak design capture clip to which was great, which I miss on the Ulanzi sling. Wonder if the Falcam is more compatible with the Ulanzi Sling. Nice video Brendan!

Between Action Pack Athlete bag and Shimoda X30, which one do you prefer?
@BrendanWiltse7 ай бұрын
Definitely the Shimoda. I liked the Atlas Athelstan but my biggest long-term complaint is the camera storage area is very shallow and it was a tight squeeze to fit larger mirrorless bodies and lenses into. I like the flexibility of the Shimoda system.

I was about to get Shimoda Action X30 anyway, but still was wondering about Atlas Pack Athletic bag as the web site was alluding to an upcoming sale ( Black Friday ). I bought this bag for a planned trip to Iceland but I didn't take it purely because of the weight. After investing a lot of money on Fuji system purely to save weight over my Canon kit for travel it defeats the object. It will protect your equipment if you drop it from the top of Everest but overkill for most usage.

You make a good point about downsizing your camera system. It doesn't matter much if your bag is super heavy. I find LowePro bags in general to be a lot heavier than they need to be.

Well. I bang it around in rivers/streams, throw it in the back of my truck with other gear, and have travelled with it to Hawaii. To be honest, I don’t give it as much care as I do the rest of my gear. It still works for what I use it for which is mostly shallow water snorkeling.

Thanks for the warning! I don't like this type of overengineered packs for my use, but I believe it's targeted at more alpine use where you basically don't want anything outside, possibly with the exception of a tripod and maybe skis or snowboard.
@frstesiste76703 жыл бұрын
Good review. Got the same back and couldn't agree more. One comment is (not a minus) that the camera compartment is so deep that it's most suited for "full sized" camera. It's difficult to use the space efficiently without stacking more compact gear.
@DougGreenberg503 жыл бұрын
Rain cover? Otherwise, very good review.
@frstesiste76703 жыл бұрын
The rain cover comes with the pack and you'll find it in a pocket at the bottom of/under the pack. Good review btw and I agree that a larger lumbar pad would be an improvement. I often use mine without the hipbelt as it's overkill on shorter trips. If I used it a lot, I'd probably would have cut off the pull out pocket on the hipbelt, the hipbelt pockets are more useful without this IMO. My largest negative is that I like to be able to get a travel tripod inside the camera compartment, but it's not tall enough even for a PD travel tripod, a 1-series Gitzo or similar. Would have been very convenient when I travel and want everything inside the pack. It's possible to put it in the main compartment though, but then it takes space from other non-photo gear and is not as protected. Also note that Atlas has a 2021-model with lots of small improvements.
