Important info for you good sir. In most high fantasy, Dragons are THE WORST THING to deal with because they pretty much check all the boxes for a dungeon raid on thier own Heavy defense Large amounts of magic and multiples spells, for attack, defense, and possibly even healing. incredible physicality for brute strength, movement speed, without wings, AND regardless of size. VERY HIGH INTELEGENCE usually from being very long lived due to all their broken freaken abilities and stats, or because they simply chose to take human form and read the world literature. They are never short on money because if they want the can just fly somewhere, end everyone in a town and take everything they own. Not to mention if you fight a dragon on its home turf you will have to deal with the abilities...OF ITS HOME TURF. Because dragons are magical creature their presence in an area can effect it to the point they begin to have control of the evironment... meaning they can make the Lair attack you. =/ Monsters in the area might become enthralled by the dragon so that it has its own army. The list goes on... Like... Dragons in movies and videogames these days have been made to look far less intimidating. But in older fantasy... dragons where just rare enough that you might never see one in your life... but common enough that you are ALWAYS afraid they might show up... and if they do you may as well completely give up on living.

I think a lot of people were wondering whether they'd tone things down or whether this show would be "kid-friendly" and they decided to answer those questions definitively within the first 10 minutes of the pilot

The cast of critical role had a Kickstarter campaign. Still highest grossing tv show Kickstarter. The critter community is incredible. Initial goal: $750,000 Funding: Over $11.3 million They paid for the entire first season and the some. The series is awesome. Best adaptation of a DnD campaign ever. Watching the show is like watching a condensed version of their first campaign. The entire cast and crew are so damn creative and talented.

Don't think you realized that when you spoke after a joke, you missed 1 or 2 of the following jokes.... Just a heads up in case you watch Airplane II ✌️😎 If you are wondering if a line came from this movie.... it did ! If you are 40 or under you will miss about 25% of the jokes. Even you sat there and didn't blink you will still miss jokes things going on in the background or someone walking by... its a jokefest their hitting from every direction 😮 😅😂😅 The ambulance crashed as it left the airplane ! The guy was still in the cab and was giving him another 20 minutes. These old comedies you have to run them past the credits because most of the time they slip in a few goodies... Thank you for the video and check out Airplane II or the Smokey and the Bandit films 😎👍 .

One thing to keep in mind, because a lot of reactors generally don't understand this: Death is always on the table. There is no plot armor. There isn't any, "Oh they wouldn't do that to a main character" because players in the game don't have plot armor and aren't the main characters in a set narrative. Every combat can potentially be deadly, and in the 10 years of Critical Role...death has absolutely happened. So, stakes are up and you never know what direction things might go.

Lady Kima sounds like Vaggie because they're voiced by the same actress. The cast of this show is absolutely stacked.

Percy is a great fantasy character. His voice actor and the GM have been friends for years. So they got to talking "what if we're playing a fantasy game...and my guy invents the first gun?"

they are around lvl 8-9 here as the campaign was already going long before stream (this is also part from the homegames before the stream) and thats a young blue dragon so its a hard fight for a group like them ^^

Fun aside, Grog's burps were made by combining the burps of Vex's and Keyleth's voice actors.

Tried to watch, but you talked through a lot of the punch lines and a lot of talk, not even about the movie. And you kept making references to a comedy movie, asking what are they doing. Just not for me.

The first 2 episodes go hard on gross-out and adult stuff. They do tone it back after that. But they still cuz and are doing not family-friendly stuff, as it's funner for them.

Hello! I'm a DnD player for about 4 decades, and been DMing most of that time. I'm the proverbial "forever DM". A little bit about each character without spoilers. Keylith - 1/2 Elf Druid. Nature and elemental magic. Vex - 1/2 Elf Ranger. Bow expert and Trinkets (bear) Vax - 1/2 Elf Rogue. Sneaky, agile, and lockpicker. Vex and Vax are twins. Percy - Human Fighter. High intelligence gunslinger. Scanlan - Gnome Bard. Magical music, illusions, and a big hand. Grog - 1/2 Giant Barbarian. Really dumb. Incredibly stong and tough. And finally, Pike - Gnome Cleric. Healer and holy warrior. I will also say, in DnD, Dragons are definitely very intelligent. Most of them are much smarter than humans. They are on a level with demons and devils and angels in power level. The dragon they faced is a Blue Dragon, which has lightning breath instead of fire. That's why Keylith "made it worse" with calling lightning on it. I'm excited to watch you watch this. Also, ask me anything you want about DnD stuff. I promise not to spoil anything for you.

A great start. Your (limited) D&D exposure will help give you a somewhat more nuanced take on the series. One can certainly watch it with no prior knowledge of TTRPGs or Critical Role, but you might catch a nod here and there to the role-playing experience. This is a very entertaining opening, but it will really kick off by episode 3, and only gets better from there. So if you're already liking it, prepare yourself. Gird your loins, one might say.
