As a retired live recording engineer who's also been a video cameraman, I really appreciate the audio and video quality of what Mr. Bialowolski has been producing. I've recorded many hours of Barry in Chicago with great mics and fine Chicago rhythm sections, and am pleased with what I've gotten. And while recording the audio (and mixing live sound in the club, I've also recorded two nights of single camera video. Production wise, it's pretty primitive, not in a league with this, but I did manage some nice tight shots. Thank you for your work.

Tommy that he's talking about here is pianist Tommy Flanagan, with whom Barry grew up in Detroit, along with many other great musicians, including the Jones Brothers (Thad, Elvin, and Hank), Pepper Adams, Kenny Burrell, Milt Jackson, Frank Rosolino, Donald Byrd, and many others. Tommy Flanigan was the pianist on "Giant Steps."

Barry's lyric for this improvisation on "Embraceable You," which he calls "EmBarryHarrisable You," is lovely. I've heard him perform it a half dozen times on his visits to Chicago, usually with James Austin, one of his students, accompanying him at the piano. Barry told the story of finishing it on a flight back from Japan, probably in '76. I'm very pleased to see this video of it on youtube.
He means quarter note triplets. The accompainment if you notice its in 4/4 , but he is telling us to think of quarter note triplets, to think in 6 beats per bar against 4 of the piano. Sorry for spelling mistakes, English isn't my first language haha

I'll confess. Last week I stole this arrangement playing at a restaurant here in Nashville. Well, I did changed a bit of the impression. But it was fun playing.

The last of the piano bebop Masters! I wonder if all present that day knew/understood just how immensely privileged they were to be there just a few feet away from the Master. I get mixed emotions of sadness to know he's no longer with us, but at the same time we have dozens of videos and recordings to enjoy him for eternity! Him, Bud & Monk will never be forgotten!

Hi Thomasz, Thank you very much for giving me the information. I love your playing and incredible talent. You are amazing musician. I really enjoyed the video of Barry giving singer's class in Bologna you created and put on KZbin. Thank you so much! I used to go to Berry's class in New York many years and I even had a great opportunity to take care of him personally his last few years. The memory of Barry is such a treasure for me. I am also a piano student of Barry and I'm so happy I have great connection to so many wonderful musicians and music through Barry. Thank you again and I'm sorry to ask you if you can tell me how I can get that music of anticipation, I will be so happy. Thank you so much. I will keep watching you.

One of my favorite solo jazz piano performances on youtube. I will aspire to play on tempo swing like the second song. So great. If anyone is interested, Bijan Taghavi has a similar on tempo solo piano performance with a transcription on his youtube channel (but not as solid in time keeping as here). Bijan Taghavi - I Should Care (Transcription) Anyway thanks a lot Tomasz 🙌
