I am by no means an expert on Duo cone seals, but the Caterpillar ones I have done expressly state they must be dry. The only allowable lubricant to assist with installation is isopropyl alcohol, because it will evaporate and leave a perfectly dry surface with no residual contamination. The only place oil is required is on the metal faces of the sealing surface and they are very certain to point out not to get oil on any other surface while putting it on the faces. I have to imagine other manufacturers of equipment would be the same. I can’t see how a duo cone could work properly if its slippery. They rely on the tork from the oring rolling up the ramp. 🤷🏽

I ran topcon gps directly into the cat control valve and designed a flow valve to switch from cat skidsteer controls to full 6way dozer controls with a push of a button. Making it just like a full-size dozer with gps auto control.

Take fine grit wet sand paper to the mating surface of the glass bowl that should help stop leaking

Good video. Any ideas on how to clean the radiators from inside out? No reverse fans on mine. Can you access radiators from belly pan below radiator compartment?

Ya, you can remove the belly pans and get to them. They make an airwond/ aircomb that is supper long like 48inch. thats how i clean them out it fits down between the coolers you can buy them from Amazon, they just hook up to an air hose.

It is more than likely that the fuel shut-off silanod on your injection pump is bad they are easy to change and not vary expensive.

It goes bad because it doesn't have a filter between the diesel tank and the pump. It has one after the pump. So, if you put a filter between the tank and the pump, the pump doesn't break (it doesn't get dirty).

Get a peace of aluminum bar or steel, and tap on the back of the hose tell it gose all the way up and then take your had and pull on the hose to reset and seat it in to place, just loke an air fitting quick coupler on a air hose

Thanks for the video, I am doing the same repair on my lathe but when I pulled the two halves apart the gear slid down and I don't know where neutral is. would you have a picture of what your neutral position is? Did you get it back up and running?

Some times mud and dirt can get in there and the only way to get it out is to take the footvalve out throught the top and clean it

Hi there, I am a subscriber to your channel. A year or two back your did a video on your cat track loader. I’m having trouble with my cat 226b hand throttle. The throttle quit working the other day, and now I only have the foot throttle, which I do not like to use. Would you mind showing a novice like myself how to replace that hand throttle cable? The internal seal on a cat 257b looks like there is no way to get it out. I'm totally stumped. It's insane. Have you done a 257b? Not the piston seals. The one behind the dust seal.

No i haven't, but if you get some sharp long pics that how i get the gland seals they can be a challenge sometimes

@DMtec101 well lucky for me, the gland seals were still good. Replaced all the others so it's back in action. I've done a few ram repairs, but the 257b is a total joke in comparison to others. Thanks for the reply 👍
