@@smooth.IT.operator I sure did . I bought it off of a friend for $50 , put the battery in then took it to the fix it shop and turned out the hard drive was pooched . So all in I got a screamer for $280 and I got 8 gig more of Ram ordered . As it sits now , from off to on line in 20 seconds . Thanks for your help .

Hi! I already have an existing 512gb ssd in M.2 2280. I want to expand my storage. I read in the online manual that the M.2 2280 slot can be expanded upto 1Tb and M.2242 slot can pe upgraded to 512gb. But the physical store is saying 2TB is possible. I am very confused as to how to proceed and the manual also said, it is only capable of handling PCIe 3.0 × 2 but the shop is saying only gen 4 is available. Can you suggest the cheapest option to upgrade?

Thank you for watching. Yes, I saw in the Product Specifications Reference how limited storage space capacity is on both on 2280 and 2242 option. PCIe v3, yes. Since you want to go cheap, go on Amazon or Ali or Ebay and look for PCIe 3.0. I heard people talk that 2TB is possible. I would go with 1TB 2242 to be sure just in case.

Thank you for watching. NVMe SSDs are of different sizes/lengths 2242, 2280 etc. Good SSD external enclosures usually support all sizes of NVMe. You posted a question at my video about NVMe SSD, so I hope you are not asking about SATA3 SSD?

Hi. Thank you for watching. 1. You can put 2280 "full size" as you say (or put 2242 with the extension like in the video). 2. 2TB size SSD should work and be recognized by the UEFI/MBO.

Thank you for watching. This one is a bit challenging. You need a modified version of Windows 11 installation because most B590 models don't have TPM module on the MBO. This is a prerequisite of Windows 11. My channel is mostly about laptop and hardware nowdays.

You are welcome. Thank you for watching. Compare the hardware of the two models side by side? CPU, MBO the same? It should work also then. But you never know 100% with RAM modules. They could be faulty brand new coming from the factory.

Thanks for the video, i have the same model, how did you know which battery was failing? Somehow looked at some identifier you found from running a command in OS, and then found it on the battery? Did you end up replacing the battery, if yes, where did you get the battery from? Thanks

Thank you for watching. I opened the laptop and disconnected one battery. Then I plugged in the charger and started Windows and noticed that the good battery was charging observing the battery icon in the taskbar. Owner of the laptop didn't want to replace the second battery that failed. You can get the batteries from Amazon links I put in the description box below the video. Or just contact Lenovo dealership or service in your country. Send them an email.

@@smooth.IT.operator Actually not. I managed to replace the battery but the computer would not run even plugged in. Upon investigation I found I had mangled the end of the flat cable from the touch pad. Now I can't find a replacement.

@@ramtek2702 Sorry to hear it. It could be challenging to find spare parts, maybe even used ones on Ebay, Amazon or Ali? You should be able to run your laptop without the touchpad plugged into the MBO I believe so your issue of laptop not starting might be deeper than that.

@@smooth.IT.operator I've already come up empty on all of your suggestions, but thanks anyway. What I suspect is the mangled contacts on the cable caused a short in the logic preventing startup. I will try running without a cable to see if I destroyed the logic permanently. I've done quite a lot of electronic assembly like this and that is the poorest style cable termination/assembly I've seen. Very easily damaged without knowing it.
