Note Mr. West mentioned this thing called defense and how Jordan was top tier in that as well (as a shooting guard no less). This is why I'll never consider LeBron to be better than Jordan. LeBron has never played defense at a high level, and Jordan never flopped.

You know how you know you're the best? When the old heads in your era say you're the best. Old heads today laugh when people claim Lebron is the goat. No one was saying that when Jordan was dominating the league, even the older guys simply understood this guy is the best ever.

I don't care how many threes Lebron shoots, he's not a better overall jumpshooter than Jordan. Besides, he has already proven himself to be decent from three in the playoffs and you couldn't leave him open from there. just see the 91-93 playoffs for proof because that's when attempted the most from the current line.

Bird was a 3x All-Defensive 2nd Team. I think athleticism is overrated for defensive ability. That block for example was all about anticipation, which was how Bird got those defensive team awards. Bird's athleticism wasn't really that bad anyways earlier in his career. It was just average. His skill and mind, on the other hand was off the charts.

I wish the game was as good today as then. I don’t care what anybody says. A 135 to 131 game where there are 60 threes taking between two teams is not fun to watch. Zero defense

The rules were changed. There was nothing exciting about watching playoff games end in 76-72 scores during the 1990’s. Michael Jordan kept that decade together. Otherwise, the basketball 🏀 was unwatchable. 🤷🏻♂️🙄🤦🏻♂️

Jerry was there for every part of league history other than the Mikan era (never heard him speak of that era), and actively remained in the sport in some capacity that entire time. He is uniquely qualified to give a deep perspective that almost no one else can give. Doesn’t mean he’s right on everything. But if Jerry said something about basketball, you should listen.
