@katanamaking2606
@katanamaking2606 29 күн бұрын

The result is what matters. Hataraki is not made by clay. Steel is made by clay. Clay is just a support. However, if I use a paste with a coarse structure, it is for a reason. It affects the habuchi, the edge of the hamon. But you always need to know the steel, how it will react under specific conditions. The hardening temperature. You can hardly judge the exact temperature from the video. Also in a workshop where it is dark, the temperature looks higher. You never see the real color in the video or photos. However, to create hamon, you need to reach a specific temperature range. If it is low, martensite will not form. No hamon. If it is high, it is also not good. It limits the formation of hataraki and cracks will form. But again, it depends on the steel. Different conditions for shinto, different for koto. Each style requires different steel and different technique, temperature.
