Excellent video. I’m only familiar with RAID ON FORT KNOX… not RETURN TO FORT KNOX. But they look the same.

Man, this is a REAL unusual version of GORF! Ground based and with slants on the original stages. Totally wacky!
@necronom13 күн бұрын
Yeah, missing the 'Galaxians' level (as some ports did), and the last level is quite different. The Vic-20 version is better, and more similar to the arcade one. It's actually set in space for a start!
@ianbuxton5259 күн бұрын
This is a pretty poor version. Quite stilted movement, missing levels and Laser Attack ships hardly moving. VIC20 smashed it.

I absolutely loved this. Played the hell out of it. I had a top score of 80odd thousand, which is about 200 loops of all the waves. I was convinced it was a world best lol. I was about 9 at the time. All downhill since then lol :D This, and Omega Race were top quality.

Is there a PC version of this out there??? Our vic 20 and the game went bye bye 30 or 40 years ago.

Not that I'm aware of, but you could run it on a PC using an emulator, like VICE.

Thanks. Yeah, a bit like C2 with the castle side view gameplay, though I couldn't get very far with that one even though I bought it for the C64 and was determined to like it. I loved the graphics and music though.

Interesting that you found this game! I am the author, and I didn't know it had spread outside my own bubble. I'm curious where you found it! I did put it on gitlab many years ago (under Rhialto/intruder -- links don't seem to work here) and this version has the exact same dates tamp. Maybe somebody took it from there. It was never a tipe-in listing in a magazine (unless they never told me, of course). There is also a version for the Commodore 64 and I'm porting to the Mega 65.
@necronomАй бұрын
I've just had a look and I have no idea where I got it from. All I know is that the original file I got is called "intruder10.prg" and I got it on 17/03/22. I've searched all over and can't find it anywhere. I did download it from a website as it's not in the original games I got with the SD2PET. I got it a few minutes after I got petman.prg, so maybe from the same site if I can find that one.
@rhialtothemarvellifyАй бұрын
@@necronom Interesting! I strongly suspect then, that the place you got it from, got it from my gitlab version, because file file name matches exactly.

A shameless clone, but it looks fun. (Although I personally prefer the ability to move and shoot in different directions simultaneously.) The skull an crossbone death explosions are a nice touch.

Interesting. This is a pretty interesting gameplay concept; perhaps it would control better with discrete keypresses - each press of the key rotates by one notch (basically, a single "paddle" stroke). I feel like this could work well as part of a multi-style game, like Aztec Challenge or Beach Head.
@necronom2 ай бұрын
Yes, if you had to release and re-press to keep turning it would be easier to control.

Great video. When I wrote Tetris back in 2010 there were 3 versions; cut-down 8k, normal, and a 32k version that did have sound but you did need to fit a DAC on the user port. It sounds like Kosmas has added beep sounds as well! Rock on Commodore PET!

It did seem familiar when I saw it. Either I've played something similar on the Vic-20 or PET before, or I was thinking of your video. I didn't realise I have 67 PET videos, and almost 300 Vic-20 ones. I bought a BBC Model B a few days ago, so I'll be doing some on that when I get time and I still haven't done any classic Apple Mac ones yet. I need to retire so I can get time for these and the PS4 games I also play.

Nice, I love that green glow! I forgot to show in my video (despite it being 40 minutes long) that you still end up caught, kicked, and sent to jail even if you haven't stolen anything yet!! Or if you just wait in the store until closing but don't steal anything, as you show at the end.
