Recently did my 2012 Murano at 98k. Purchased with 82k with no history of fluid servicing. Dealership refused to service because I was too close to 100k. Drain and fill went smoothly. 10mm hex was a bit of a pain to get off...but PB Blaster and an extension pipe got it done. 5 quarts came out via drain plug...5 quarts went in via dipstick neck. Fluid was very dark brown...original fluid maybe?! No prior transmission issues or symptoms. Shifts smoothly just as it did before. Also replaced the external filter behind the driver's side wheel...not sure if this was necessary but it was cheap and convenient. Video was helpful!
@CJ_Kraus21 күн бұрын
Thanks! Yeah I called Nissan and they said not to do it as well and mine has 150k+ but it was acting weird so I went ahead and did it anyway. It seems much better now. And not issue knock on wood 😂. I think the main issue was the external filter on a lot of these. Best to change them for the peace of mind anyways. Cvt fluid needs changed or will destroy the trans from what I read. I’m going to change mine every 18-20k from now on. Probably just a drain and external filter. I’m glad the video helped!

First off, get another battery. I went with an anti gravity lithium wth double the cranking amps. The stock 220 isn't enough. If you want to stay with AGM, there are a few available with 360 cranking amps. Dennis kirk has them for around 150.00. Next, do your screen update. It came out on 12/11/23. Easy to do yourself with a computer and a flash drive. It fixes the blackout bug and a few other fixed/changes. There are a couple of you tube videos that can walk you through it.
@keithulhul75406 ай бұрын
Lithium batteries are not resistant to vibration like agm are. Agm are also sealed.
@jimmyjames64876 ай бұрын
@keithulhul7540 why do you need a sealed lithium? There is no fluid. They weigh 1/3 of an AGM. And I'm not sure what you mean by vibration since a lot of outdoor power equipment (lawn mowers, chainsaws, etc) run on lithium batteries. I have freinds that run them in their dirt bikes. No issues. But to each their own.
@keithulhul75406 ай бұрын
@jimmyjames6487 the battery is right behind the front tire. And exposed to the elements. Vs other bikes keeping it under the seat. You do you, but I wouldn't take the chance on a lithium with the pan.
@CJ_Kraus6 ай бұрын
I got the screen updated and I learned with the stock battery if you pull the clutch in it starts every time so far. I probably will update the battery in the future tho just for peace of mind.
@jimmyjames64876 ай бұрын
@keithulhul7540 yes, I know where the battery is located because I'm the one that replaced it over a year ago. Im beginning to think you dont have any knowledge on lithium motorcycle battery's. A few companies make a direct replacement sized and fitted for the PA. They all carry a "waterproof" rating, so I'm not sure where you are getting your information. Do you really think they would sell a battery specifically listed for that bike if they believed damage to a 25k bike would happen? No. Another reason I went with the antigravity brand is the built in Jumpstart feature. If the battery discharges to a certain point, it shuts itself off "sleep mode" to maintain enough charge to start the bike. You simply plug the remote into the battery tender port and press a button. It wakes up the battery and you can restart the bike. I found this option handy because of the location of the battery and the work involved just to get a jump pack hooked to it. But hey, if you want a 10lb paperweight that barely has enough juice to start your bike, keep the stock AGM. You do you.

@@CJ_Kraus Thank you so much for your answer ,really appreciate it. The reason i like to get 2021 model is because its 3k cheaper than the 22 model and the 23 model are still rare here in Switzerland , there reasons are : at the beginning Harley Dealers in Swiss introducing pan Amerrica some Swiss riders bought the bike and not even a month or maybe 2 to 3 months they went back to their dealer because of the problems with the bike , and that was bad start for Pan America in Swiss and there for very less people consider to buy the Bike and the Dealers has difficulties to get the newest model like 2022 because Harley USA will not send the Dealers new model if the dealers did not sell the 2021 model and thats why there are long waiting for 2022 model and 2023 model . and i think for 2024 model it will come next year and its still depends on how Harley Swiss can assure the market that Pan America Problems are solved . for comparisson to USA ,the cheapest 2021 Pan America Special are around 17K with 3 months guarante from dealer . Have a nice weekend , cheers .

Good vid bro! I've put over 30k on the same bike. Get you a "fenda extenda" for the front and maybe even the back. There are high dollar ones but IMHO, the Amazon cheepos are fine. You need a skid plate, and make the dealer fix that starter issue! There is a fix! But if you don't raise enough hell about it they'll hem-haw around until the warranty is out. Amazon also has some flares for the hand guards, pushes the wind up over your fore arms. Upgrade that battery! Anti-gravity ATX12-HD has made a world of difference for me. Enjoy the ride!!

2024 has a bigger generator and a 330 cranking amp battery, that can be retrofitted, but it needs the outer casing too! Because the UK market has collapsed for Pan Americas, they're only 50% of new after only 2yrs,I'm planning to buy one,but only a 22 or 23 MY...not interested in anything built during the lockdown years of 20 and 21! HD made a mistake, they should have introduced them cheaper than an Africa Twin, and slowly raised the price as reliability because established, rushing to market with something not fully tested(lockdown) was a major mistake, and they are paying dearly for it,and it'll probably mean the 950 PA is still born?

1. Battery tender plug is factory. Plugs for heated gear are under the seat. 2. You need the infotainment system update. 3. Press and hold the "home" button to switch to high contrast white screen. 4. You need the updates to fix the starter whine. HD will fix that. It's a known problem on the 21'S. There is software update and a mechanical starter clutch update too. You may not need both but definately need one. 5. Check out the forums and consider an Antigravity Li-on battery. The 2024 comes with a bigger battery, but I learned it needed that battery 3 years ago. 6. I have over 30,000 miles on mine and I LOVE IT, but if you don't get the updates done you will be back on KZbin bad mouthing it before your next service.
