Yeah... I angered clang by grinding a beam? I think....... also, time was 2:37:00 approx. The grid converted to ship with hydrogen tanks in the voxels... Ozy should have been there next to the tanks 😁

remember when i designed and built my first auto-miner on a private server, pre event controllers so it ran on an on/off button that everyone forgot to turn off until it clanged into oblivion. edit: mine mined stone which it used to produce the components required to extend itself so as time went on the drill part got heavier and heavier and even though I had grinders set up to keep weight gain to a minimum eventually the game has enough and you just hear a loud bang and the server freezes for a couple seconds as the biggest thing in the game instantaneously stops existing

This is one of those "sleeper" videos. Oh sure, let's learn how to build a quarry type thing. Then you learn about "solar arrays" and what it takes to make a room "air tight." THEN you figure out (on your own) the COST of all of this. Great upload, man. Many thanks for this. 🤜🤛🍻

Your level of creativity with small grids is wonderful. I also have dark lighting as well. I truthfully consider it more comforting than creepy. I've also tinted it with a yellow/orange colour rather than pure white, so it looks a bit like firelight.

I don't want to nitpick. But is there a reason you didn't build it so you could observe the mining operation instead of the solar array? Edit: And by that I mean observing it from the control seat like you're the supervisor of the operation instead of using the wide angle of the overhead camera view. I'm speaking in a more immersive view direction. I'm not trying to ruin your roleplaying experience.

Wow, someone managed to get drones to actually work in Space Engineers. I've seen tons of people try the Automation blocks, Remote control, etc, but never knew there was a transport mode built into PAM. Does it survive a restart? Seen PAM have issues with needing to be remapped on a reload in the past.

@Jackcaos I would love if you could elaborate. The drones kept getting stuck after a round or two. By stuck, I mean they would loose their bearings and start ocilating over a point in the path while slowly rising up... they never recovered from this state.

PAM is pretty good, though I did run in to a issue with the transport mode of it. Started using a sorter to force ores in to it when it picks them up from a remote location.
@JagoDragon

I was planning on having the drone run without a programmable block. So the locations are both set up with sorters to manage drone cargo already. I didn't even think to try the drones cargo features tbh...

Interesting... I just have a sorter that pulls ore from mining ships into ore cargo. Then an ingot sorter to pull ingots from refineries into ingot storage. A gravel sorter to dump gravel overboard from refineries to stop them jamming. And a component sorter to pull comps from my assemblers so they don't clog either. Standard 4 sorter system, never clogs... :) I sometimes add a reflux sorter to flush ingots from assemblers back into ingot storage, but it isn't that vital (and creates a loop). I'm assuming that dividing ores and ingots into types with their own containers is just for fun?? :)

A rotor bellow the projector would allow to turn the model while printing it, helping to print missing parts. Also a sensor set to detect the player can be set to turn off the welders if a player get too close to them. Safety first ! I really like the idea of the windows in front of the welders !

A simple solution to 'forgetting' to turn on your batteries when disconnecting from the base might be to setup timer blocks or programmable blocks to "Startup" : turn on the batteries, turn on the thrusters, then switchlock the connector and/or landing gear. "Shutdown": switchlock the gear/connector; turn off the thrusters, set the batteries to recharge.

I can't for the life of my get the small grid wall to work right. I build the hinge and put the small head on it and can place the small grid blocks on it but when I get to the edge where it mates to the large grid wall there is a gap and I can't close the gaps. Any tips?
@maxwellfujs6124
@maxwellfujs6124 5 ай бұрын
I’ve never tried doing something like this specifically, but whenever we use any of the blocks with motion (hinge, piston, rotor), the new grid is basically *always* slightly shorter or longer than the grid you’re trying to “snap” to. Try using a rotor and adjusting the head of the rotor to push or pull the grid into position (one of the menu sliders), or try a piston for ultimate control. This is partially same reason why it’s difficult to make custom airtight doors.

Thanks for creating and streaming your struggles with the a.i. I am a new player to SE and really enjoy your videos. I was getting extremely frustrated with the behavior as well, and just assumed I was doing something wrong. I sadly will be avoiding the a.i. and maybe I will change my gameplay to use remote controlled craft. I do still find it's usefulness in this form. But I will have to accept any automation, is gone... For now until the devs decide to fix things. I look forward to watching more of your content. And Happy New Year!
