I was wondering why you were using the rotor with the connector, but I see that you were using it to adjust the height of the connector. You can do the same thing a lot simpler with two hinges. You don't need to make both connectors small grid to connect. You can have a large grid at the base, and small grid on the rover and they will still connect to each other.

Not simpler. You need to make the angles match on both hinges for it to work properly. It is I better method, but would require an explainer that may be seen as too technical.

I was wondering why it wouldn’t charge I thought I was doing some wrong tried lowering the stiffness of my wheels to line it up better different conveyers and such caved and hada look this up thank you for the help

Oh, NEVER EVER EVER USE PARK! If You have multiple ships/rovers attached to your base, and you hit Park, it will disconnect everything. You should always use a hotbar command to attach/detach. It is much more reliable.

Park is fine at this stage in the game. You are correct though. Park is a bad habit. it IS best to set you parking system on the toolbar and manage it your self. How ever, I am trying to show simple methods that will not seam overly technical to new players. And, I am betting that new players will prefer the use of P rather than a lot of hot bar keys.

There must be something wrong with my eyesight, with or without glasses I cannot seem to see those spots. I fly with Jet Pack and with Hover Miner and use third and first person views and cannot see the spots even when right over a mine I am currently getting ore.

some times they are extremely hard to spot. try turning your grass render to 0m and dialing back your graphics settings. this can some times help those spots to "pop" and be easier to see.

@@Effrit_Haldane Thank you for the image, very helpful. My problem is that I am in an area where it is almost all ice and stone. All the terrain has nothing but spots of various colors. I have turned down graphics settings and still cannot seem to find anything. On the lake I see the spots very clearly. I ran around with my drill and was able to find a spot of cobalt, nickel and iron, almost by mistake. I zoomed up with jet pack and used 3rd person view and still see no obvious spots where I KNOW has ore. My eyes and even my hearing and tasting cannot recognize details anymore. Thank you for the help and advice.

You should have grabbed Cobalt instead of Iron at the deposit you found. You don't need a lot of cobalt to get things going. A couple K is sufficient for a basic base if managed well.

Searching for Iron, Silicon & Nickel is a fools errand as all you need to do is build a big piston onto a basic refinery, attach a large drill onto the end and let it chew through stone and it will generate all the Fe, Si & Ni you need. You can even build a sorter and ejector to get rid of all the excess gravel so it's not taking up room in inventory.

You're correct when it comes to more advanced players. But I firmly believe that the best course of action for a beginner tutorial is to teach them the intended mechanics of game play before pushing more advanced building and exploits.
