Not a drummer here. Is it difficult to adapt the play style to knowing that the beat you hit is going to echo like that? I would think it would be easy for the whole sound to turn into a huge mess if you don't plan for that, right? I love your videos ❤

Brilliant video as usual, short but absolutely factual! I'm not the greatest technician from being away from my drums for so long, but I know para diddles inside out, the combi system you demonstrate perfectly, beautifully even, are a staple for any serious drummer and definitely those looking to improve. Like you say, para diddles are drumming, simple as that. Thanks again for your time and effort. From the UK.

Facebook started showing me your videos so I came to KZbin to find you. I want my young adult son to start watching you because you have so many good tips and creative setups. I'm a little confused by your name. FB seems to be saying that you're Gene... but either way, I love your drumming, your teaching, your sense of fun, and your creativity.

Handpan? Never seen one before and I've been playing various instruments since beginning elementary school beginning of the 70s. Guessing GA doesn't have many on our rivers.

Handpans are a lot of fun to just relax and play. I just got a new one sent to me from Germany so I’m anxious to try it out with a new video.

Actually have a couple of those washboards. They were part of an old kitchen cabinet used for holding flour and making biscuits and such each morning. Refurbished it all after I lost my folks last decade. Nothing with a label Lil Cincinnati here, but I'd love any parts I can find. Trying to do another full cabinet. ❤
@dtdrummerlady18 күн бұрын
These are handmade in Argentina just for playing. They named them ‘Cincinnati’ because I guess they originated there.

I'm still working on getting my pointer finger to go with the action of the stick vertically, at the moment my pointer finger is making the stick go sideways, I think I have crazy minded fingers, especially on my left hand!!?? Still continuing on and hoping that my pointer finger will let me progress that little bit further, thanks for the brilliant videos! You're amazing 👌

This is one of the best traditional grip explanations I've seen in a long time. 🥁👌
@drummersinger532426 күн бұрын
When are you trad lovers going to get real and admit the grip is a very limited on drum set grip?
@SwiftSean1122 күн бұрын
This is probably true for the typical drummer & in various contexts… yet Buddy Rich played things on a kit most EXCELLENT drummers admire & aspire to play (of course with traditional grip). I switched to matched grip as a kid in the 70’s bc that was cool then. We were breaking the rules lol. But get back to me later with more technique comments, after posting a video showing the same power speed & control as Buddy, & we will all be happy to like & subscribe.
