What's the purpose for the solar panel ? It's not to keep the battery charged in the camera ??? That's the impression I'm getting from what you mentioned about that external battery lasting almost all of hunting season so whats the solar panel for
@Horn_n_Fin_Outdoors7 күн бұрын
The solar panel has its own internal battery, that’s what the solar panel keeps charged. However, the battery does not have a huge capacity, so depending on sunlight, camera settings, and how many pics the camera takes, the solar panel may not be able to keep the battery charged. The external battery has a much larger storage capacity, so will last longer.

Can I have the pictures sent to the computer and not the phone ? Afer the 250 pictures does it just stop untill next month ? I'm going to start with pictures only would I be better using the 2.0 vs 3.0 ?
@Horn_n_Fin_Outdoors10 күн бұрын
Hi steve, if you are new to cell cams, you definitely want to use the X 3.0. it is much easier to set up and use than the Pro. I believe that you can set up the camera with a computer, but if you will have the app on your phone already, its MUCH simpler to set up with your phone. the app has many more features than the online website. if you use up all of your pictures, it will keep taking pics, but not send them, once the next billing cycle starts, the camera will then start sending pics again. you can buy "overage" protection which will automatically bill you $5 for another 250 (?) pics each month. Good luck this year! Here is a link to buy the Reveal X 3.0 on amazon. amzn.to/3Yu4K4p

The specs on those batteries say they only work down to 14F which isn't that cold for my area. Where I'd want to run them could get into the -20s or -30s on particularly cold nights. Do you have any experience with them in sub 14F temps? I'd really like to find a way around using Energizer lithium AAs.

The HME has a larger battery than the Tactacam does. I use both in the north east and the temperature gets down pretty cold, and I don’t have a problem with either one.
