Getting my first gun,I had to learn fast that it was not for show as well as for walking around acting all big and macho but is to protect my family and property because we all know that in South Africa, crime can happen at anytime and anywhere. As citizens, we need to push back against this useless government that wants to take our right to protect ourselves and loved ones. Thank you for the amazing content.

When I first flew with a firearm it was only R250 one way. That was however over 10 years ago! R800 one way is a lot of money. I thinks its Airlink that is R1150 one way!

Your competency remains valid for the period of validity for the licence that is relates to. In short, your competency expires when your firearm licence expires.

If a person is ramming your car with their car, or constantly break checking and trying to run off the road can you shoot the driver, or does that cause more risk?

Good question. The best thing to do is try get away and disengage. If you are physically blocked and attacked, that is when you would use your firearm.

you should be carefull posting a video like this in this country....gun owners should know the law or not own guns. You are opening a debate here and could cause problems for you. You are not the law and should not be giving advise as if you will assist a person in court. Did they not do exams and training prior to getting a lic?

As a professional PFTC Firearm instructor, this falls under the ambit of what we teach. So I am well within my area of operation to comment on what the law states. If you watched the video you would also have seen I advise the services of a legal company. Even though this is indeed covered in the proficiency material, a reminder from time to time is helpful.

I had to fly up to Joburg earlier this year and due to FlySafair's terrible attitude I had to leave my ccw at home. I was forced to fly to JHB and drive all the way down to CPT unarmed

thanks for the awesome video! Question... I have used my "occasional sport shooting" pistol as my conceal carry for "self defence" when doing long distance drives over a long weekend holiday trip. All be it, the destination (a family farm) is where i do most of my shooting. How hectic is our legislation when it comes to the purpose that the weapon was intially registered for? This same handgun will also be the first thing i go for should someone try to break into my house

I have a rookie question for you. What do you do with a dud round (primer failure) after you have ejected it? Is there a potential for delayed primer ignition and the round going off? Or Is the round safe to handle immediately after ejection and how or with whom do you dispose of the dud in a safe manner especially for those that dont reload? Perhaps a youtube short video on this topic?

Thats a very good question. If you are on a shooting range or not in a life threatening situation, handle it as a potential hang fire and keep your muzzle pointing in a safe direction for at least 10 seconds. Thereafter, treat it as a misfire and eject the round. If you are in a defensive situation, tap, rack and assess immediately. Even if it detonates out of battery or on the ground, it most likely wont be lethal... incoming enemy fire will be though, so its definitely the lesser of the two evils. You can hand the round over to a gun shop or ask the range officer what he would like you to do with the round. You could also keep it.

Yipppeeee, so, I have to tell the criminal who point a gun at me to wait, because I wuickly want to get my gun out of my safe. That is a very stupid law to control a law abiding citizen and currently South Africa is flooded with lawless gunslingers.🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬. I am at work and my wife is at home vulnerable against these freekin vultures.🤬🤬
