Question: Although it is common to string Rickenbacker 12 strings with the octave strings the opposite way than 12 string guitars are usually strung (the lower string followed by the octaves) what possible problems would be caused if you decided to re-string them the standard way?

Do you think that it would be helpful to use a capo high up the neck (12th fret or higher) to keep the strings taut so that you won't need to use your hand (or fingers) to keep the string from falling out of the "R" bridge ? You can always remove the capo once you get adequate tension on the string, before you tighten the string & bring it up to pitch. What do you think?
