Some additional info! Lion King wasn’t the only official POG set, there was also a Pocahontas set. Also there was a second POG tournament in Disneyland in October 1994 on the same day as the CHOC charity walk.

Regarding the economical argument for aerial ropeways v. subways, monorails, trains, etc.: the part that _isn't_ being factored-in is that while the latter may have higher initial costs, steel rails last for decades, if not centuries. If one section of track needs repair, new rails can easily and quickly be grafted-in. Ropeways, OTOH, have to be inspected very regularly, and if a cable has a frayed area, the entire system must stop, and a very expensive and difficult process must be undertaken not only to _replace_ the cable, but then to properly _tension_ it. These are not trivial differences.

This video is very confusing. You make it sound like the leg lamp actually existed in 1940, but in reality the leg lamp was imagined by the book author as part of his fictionalized stories about his family. With that said, I did find an ad from 1950 for a lamp with two legs. But that was a coincidence. It isn't clear whether you believed the lamp actually existed in 1940, but it did not: "Shepherd imagined the leg lamp after seeing an illuminated Nehi Soda advertisement, which featured two shapely disembodied legs up to the knee."

Sorry for all of these comments. I want to upload a concert by the band FREE who played at this theme park and the audio has survived. I once believed there was no such place. I told an music trader that Pirates World/with no comma, didn't exist. I just didn't know any better. Because I am in Florida, in Jacksonville, and I'm a Native Floridian, this is content that appeals to me, the long past of Florida. Florida was once a much more desirable place to live. Now it's a crowded toilet. The natural beauty has been bulldozed, paved over, drained, polluted, and polluted with human waste. How much longer until the aquifer is contaminated forever. Will much of Florida be swallowed up by sea level rise? Will Spanish become the language of Florida?

The piano music in the background makes it hard to concentrate on the narration. That said, I appreciate the video. I am a Florida native of 61 and 7/8's years. I became aware of Pirate's World, which doesn't seem to use an apostrophe. Maybe that is one of those implied apostrophe's the media said Biden used when he called half of the country "Garbage". Not trying to be a jerk, but I was brought up when school's taught a bit of grammar. Now it is almost nonexistent, or maybe it is taught in private schools. I couldn't even find a grammar class when I went to college. English Grammar just isn't taught now. Nor do they diagram sentences, etc. I'm glad young people don't have to go to typing classes though. I got a C at typing in junior college. I type much better on a computer keyboard and a monitor and correction is lifetimes ahead of the typewriter days of correction fluid, ribbon tapes, etc. I still have an electric typewriter, a small compact one.

3:04 HOW, is this ride not the extremely dangerous??? I'm scared just looking at the metal track. Your unprotected legs dangling. OW, OW, OW!! SLICE, SLASH, FLESH RIPPING!!! What held a person on the horse? What a lawsuit. Imagine we lived in a much less litigious USA in this time period. Or, I hope we did.

I tried this at the Coca Cola museum(?) in Vegas back in the late 90's, early 00's. I'll never forgot going down the line trying out all the wonderful drinks, then hitting that Beverly and nearly gagging right in the middle of 20 people lmaoo

I remember reading Bob Thomas' 1976 biography, _Walt Disney: An American Original_ . Animator Ward Kimball described how inscrutable Walt Disney was, how people thought he'd approve of something, and how they were wrong when he didn't. He said how after Walt Disney's death people still kept saying, "Walt would approve of it."

I get it. It failed so much that it materialized and it happened successfully. This is why you never believe what talking heads say about anything including Disney because they love to make it about what they think it is versus what it really is.

Living in the area you could here the train for miles every hour on the hour a signature sound. thats greatly missed. Six gun was awesome the shoot out stunts where exciting the town was big they kept it by moving sections of it using it for local business shops.

Interesting coverage of a very vague railroad topic. In the backwash of his original Auto-Train's failure, railroad "luminary" Eugene Garfield pressed-on with the creation of the "Florida Fun Train", hoping -- I imagine -- for a rebound. Thank you for mentioning him in the "intro" (wow...how he aged, appearing in that still photo @1:45)...so little was ever reported about Mr. Garfield in the wake of Auto-Train.

FYI : In the 1932 Indy 500, a race car called the “Hupp Comet” started 4th and finished in 5th place. It was powered by a modified Hupmobile straight eight engine. The driver and owner was Russell Snowberger and he hand built the car himself. By today’s standards that is a superb achievement. This was the only time a Hupmobile engined car ran in the “Greatest Spectacle in Racing.”
