Why does listening to John make me smile? Love it.

Picard looks horrible and Patrick is decrepit. I'm a huge Star Trek fan and have worked with many actors from the series including Majel, but since paramount began streaming and charging for Trek, I haven't paid or even seen any streaming shows. I reckon half of real trekies also have refused to pay

Kurtzman's "Trek" doesn't count; but people will swallow almost anything these days.

One day in a far future, mankind is gonna become the Q! That's why Q is so interested in mankind. He also is looking for a way to escape "the great boredom of the Continuum" we've seen in Voyager. Q is travelling back in time to the roots to see what they have lost during their evolution, some kind of a Paleo diet. His attempt to have a baby with Janeway, clearly an attempt to pump "fresh old school blood" into the continuum...

One of me and my daughters favorite actors in the series and Star Trek Universe. We watched all the episodes together. I can't imagine anyone else taking his place. Thank you John!😊

Nothing against John de Lancie, but Q should never have been on Star Trek TNG. Star Trek is supposed to be science fiction, and the laws of physics are supposed to be able to explain everything, even if they have to be stretched a bit. There is no place for a supernatural character on a science fiction series.

I recently saw an old episode of Barnaby Jones in which John De Lancie played a rich kid who was stalking a woman. That character was basically a human version of Q. He's just the master of playing that kind of character.

I first saw him in one of the soaps, back in the 80's I believe. Might have been General Hospital". It was his voice that captured me.

He was amazing as Q,but he has been wonderful since he was Eugene on Days of our Lives, and even in the Thorn Birds.he is awonderful actor.

The come back scene was great. However it was needing something. That was his younger voice. They could have altered that or just cut from previous works for tonality. If you close your eyes it doesn't work. Its missing.

Two ST actors who have nailed their sci-fi roles perfectly: John de Lancie as Q on Trek and Walter Koenig as Alfred Bester on Babylon 5.

I first saw John de Lancie in Days of Out Lives (along with Babylon 5 alum Richard Biggs) and loved him then. He was a lot of fun as Q, while my daughter knows him best as Discord.

John just has one of THOSE voices, I could listen to him read the phone book and be absolutely RIVETED. Not many actors have that power. Only a handful.

I was a huge Fan of the show, but it completely threw me for a loop when I saw him for the first time. He was on a soap opera that my mother used to watch (days of our lives?). He at first looked completely out of place, but did such a good job as Q.

Why’s this man has not been offered more big rolls. He’d be great in movies about old world history. He’s got a great voice for playing an emperor or leader. And his ability to sell a strong character has been is proven. Or to do voice overs in nature documentaries like Mr. Attenborough
