His portrayal of Eugene Bradford on Days of Our Lives was the first time I saw John de Lancie. With the way Days of Our Lives has done several "out there" storylines like demonic possessions, I'm surprised none of the residents of Salem have ever been paid a visit by a certain member of the Q Continuum. LOL

John's story about Days of Our Lives is remarkably similar to Jonathan Harris on Lost in Space. Harris knew that a pure psychopath Dr. Smith would have limited success but without staying power, so he purposefully rewrote the dialogue himself to add the buffoonish aspects of Dr. Smith. With the blessing of producer Irwin Allen, Harris was given carte blanche to rewrite subsequent scripts - unfortunately to the detriment of the other characters, and to the point that the stories all centered around Smith, Will Robinson and the Robot.

I disliked Q. I loved John D's portrayal. Other than, as is common in SF, none of these critters have yet been seen, even if they are ever found... And, that is after we solve issues of the whole ftl -> interstellar travel -> running federations, confederations, empires, etc., roadblocks.
