If only these guys were from the west coast...we know what to do with hard-core punk not standing there and just waiting for the breakdowns like the east coast haha😂

Just judging from the lyrics themselves and how straightforward punk lyrics tend to be it sounds less like its ironic and more that its just about being forcibly sent by authorities or needing to fight because you're being invaded or socially encouraged to war when you don't want to and that communists just happened to be the enemy? Like their opinion on communism is kind of irrelavent here even if it may or may not align.

Back when I was thirteen, bought a punk comp at the mall. That one comp introduced me to Dead Kennedys, Husker Du, Mission To Burma, The Circle Jerks, and this SSD song. That comp literally changed the course of my life😂

Always marveled at how wild the drumming was on this album…why is this style of drumming so different from their stuff on This Is Boston Not LA comp? Different drummer?

You got old but hopefully not jaded. Punk is an all-ages music, there are no rules. You don’t “age-out” of punk unless you were posing to begin with to fit in with your crowd. I feel sorry for people like that, faking their lives, and who they truly are to fit in. Like closeted queers, I truly pity them, because the longer they lie to themselves and their loved ones they are poisoning themselves and cutting themselves off from a chance at real intimate love. We all have to ask that question, “am I really doing what I want?”, punk helps me do that: the energy and raw truth help me be an honest critical thinker.

Rad record. When I saw this pic decades ago I thought that they were like a big famous band whom play like The Who, that pic is quite iconic though.
