I'm genuinely confused - Gilbert is your virtual partner? Does he like Welsh coffee beans too?
@SaddleSoreАй бұрын
Gilbert is my gooch. My undercarriage. My posterior. My soft, off-white underside. Embarrassingly, for someone I’m so intimate with, I have no idea if he likes coffee. But if he does, I’m confident his preference will be for Welsh beans.

Paul, I love your videos. You are absolutely hilarious. You're like a funny version of Will Ferrell. On a more serious note, I am in awe of your cycling endurance. I recently completed my first 100K, and I was done. I look forward to more of your adventures.

Wow Roger… that’s high praise indeed! I’m glad you enjoy my nonsensical idiocy… I really do question why, and if it’s worth making videos. Feedback like yours makes me realise that maybe it’s not all in vain! Well done on your 100km. Try a 150 next. Before you know it you’ll be doing a 200… and then who knows what. You may even end up giving your undercarriage a name, just like me and Gilbert!

Yeah… kind of lost my mojo for filming. It doesn’t seem worth taking the camera on smaller rides or standard 200km audaxes, so I’m just taking on the bigger, more interesting routes. No point taking the camera just for the sake of it. And, sometimes, I just like to ride for myself.

Fantastic effort. It's strange, I really enjoy watching these long Audax videos.....especially yours. They fascinate me. But it just reinforces why I don't want to do them 🤣🤣. I've done a couple of 204 mile solo rides in 14 hrs including breaks, and that was hard enough. But what you're doing is on another level, I don't think I want to put my body through that. 🤣
@SaddleSore6 ай бұрын
Oh come on in… the water’s lovely! If you can do 200+ miles you can do so much more. It’s just a matter of trying to ignore the inevitable boredom and nausea, but those phases never last!
@Markhypnosis16 ай бұрын
@@SaddleSore Funnily enough, I never had any nausea on those rides. Just very sore backside and feet, and slumps in energy even though I ate and drank loads. But yes the boredom is something else. Maybe they weren't long enough for nausea to set in.. The last one I did a year ago was in 28 degree heat with relentless sun. So I did have a bit of sunstroke. With The way I felt afterwards, the thought of doing it again and again after only a few hours sleep would fill me with dread.

@SaddleSore6 ай бұрын
I’m not sure I’m the best person to ask about training… I just ride my bike as often and as far as life lets me! It takes time to build up (a handful of years) in terms of distance and experience. Every ride teaches me something new!
