Hi Paul, the Hirnant pass is superb especially coming out of the Conifers towards the top, its very special and you’ll love the Wayfarer’s on the BGB route. We, that’s the old club trans versed it some years ago now on touring bikes in fact I am still on the girl, my winter 531 Dalesman, so it’s doable though get ready for a walk, it’s favoured by the 4x4 clubs so some of the ruts are deep! You’re both going to love it (though in daylight trust me)! I would love to do part of it with you both but it’s a bit beyond me now sadly. I can’t wait for the Vlog especially given your superb recording skills. Damion needs a special mention thinking up the escapade, it’s a great two man adventure you’ll support one another through the HIGHS and lows. Best regards South/Shrop Dave.

Thanks Dave. You’re right… Wayfarers will be best tackled during daylight hours. Thankfully I know it pretty well so I know what to expect and where we’ll need to don our waders. There’s not much that can’t be ridden with care. It’s more the cumulative fatigue that’s making me concerned about the week long affair!

Well done as usual….aside from the mystery of the disturbing disappearing donkeys 😮 impressed you are getting the miles in this time of year, I just can’t seem to like riding in sh*t weather 😎

Thanks! I can’t wait for each Saturday to come round so that I can get some weather… it’s way more enjoyable than sitting on the Wattbike, even if the weather is grim.

Great video again. Other than that, BGB sounds evil ! Especially in those grey and rainy conditions You’re riding more often than I would. ;)

Got to put the hard yards in now or BGB will be a disaster. (It could still end up a disaster)

Bloody hell. BGB sounds a beast. Good luck. X-rated they say 😄

It’s x-rated in anticipation of my foul language in some of the climbs!

Six finished it - how many started it?

Two. It took them so long they spawned offspring. Those children then grew up and had their own children. All a bit incestuous, but there you go. Fact. True story. For reals.

Classic audax Welsh Piccie! BGB is utterly bonkers - may you have a bike made of helium, and a constant tail wind all the way around! And if all that fails - enjoy the walking!
@SaddleSore2 жыл бұрын
I’ll swap the helium for half a stone of weight loss from my mamil handles. But I’ll take the tail wind please!!

I hiked a short stretch of the Wayfarer’s during a backpacking trip. It was a mess. At one point, the 4WDs had created a pool big enough and deep enough for a swim. Don’t worry about the kind of bike because, if it hasn’t had any TLC, you’ll be walking beside it. Good fun video. An enjoyable watch. Best wishes for the BGB.

I know the Wayfarers fairly well, and you’re right, it can be a quagmire up there. It’ll be ok… a short walk will stretch the legs!
