Couple brake checks and you can get that grain to level out to make tarping easier. Just watch your axle weights when you do it if you have gauges

. LOL I love pulling a hopper OTR just no money in it.. I hauled everything blood meal, meat and bone meal ,fish meal, DDG, bean meal, midds, rice hulls, grain, fertilizer, road salt, feed salt., cottonseed hulls, if it went on a hopper I would haul it. Nothing local because the farmers had all that sowed up. When I went to stepdeck freight I actually started to make some money. None of that washout every load or every other load. No more fighting with stuck DDG that won't come out of the trailer, midds loaded hot that won't come out etc.. You are in for an adventure pulling a welfare wagon..

If you don't mind me asking why did they load the back hopper first
@VanIperenTrucking
@VanIperenTrucking 4 күн бұрын
Not 100% sure to be honest. I do know when you load with the loader you have to pull off the scale for him to load the back hopper. When you back up for him to load the front hopper then you are back on the scale so he can get your weight right. My assumption is they just do the same process when you load with the belt to make the process the same at both loadout areas.

@VanIperenTrucking oh ok thx i loaded in the field one time & let him load the back first never again worst ride & way over weight
@VanIperenTrucking
@VanIperenTrucking 4 күн бұрын
When I load at farms or at the local elevator I always load front to back and I have never had issues and it's always been consistent on weights.

@@VanIperenTrucking Most of them in AR are pull through and operate like that. I remember when I asked questions my dad was super good at answering them with practical experience too. My mom was better for rote memorization stuff but for experiences besides the 2004 world series and in a lesser time on the Earth.

Hi is the seatbelt mount supposed to be so high? In one ton trucks and less we were told to put them in line with our ears. I suspect they'd be less uncomfortable if rigged so.

Hey brother another great video how can I get in contact with you personally I want to add a hopper bottom to my fleet but I need more understanding on it please if you don’t mind and how you like the electric tarps vs the manual ones all the ones I’m looking to buy has the electric tarps I don’t know if I want the electric ones
@VanIperenTrucking
@VanIperenTrucking 6 күн бұрын
Running hoppers off of load boards is not near as profitable as having direct contracts. Hoppers is a real cut-thought area in trucking and it's not easy and some real crap hours and a lot of waiting. As for tarps, electric tarp is the only way I would go, just my opinion. You also need to figure out whether you are going to run local, over the road, commodity hoppers, ag hoppers, sidewall height, tandam axle, tripple axle, width, and length. The trailer size and hopper type plays a huge huge roll, but you need to know what you are primarily going to haul. My recommendation is to first look over load boards (Farm Pro and Bulk Loads) and search in your area what there are for companies that would use bulk product and figure out what you would primary haul. With hoppers weight is the name of the game.
