Those triples loads (3-19' units) always put a standard tractor trailer over length, no matter how much tucking you do. As you said, most states haven't really begun cracking down on operators breaking the law. I've been told by MO to retract or remove my stinger in front of face a fine... And I was empty. Remember, any other type of oversized divisible load, whether it be lumber, fencing, or campers, is restricted. Until drivers collectively begin to refuse taking oversized illegal loads, the factories will continue shipping them that way. Ideally, that should have been a haul and tow load, with an extra single pull. That or divise dealer orders so they don't ship in threes. Simple. Hope things start picking up out there. I sold my haul and tow Ram last year after 10 years in the business. Low rates, less freight, and higher costs... Just didn't make sense anymore. The best setup for triples is a stinger steered unit. You can go out to 80' I believe with all kinds of overhang permitted.

It really does blow my mind the length of campers these companies are squeezing on these trailers today. With the last company I was with we rarely had triples. It was more profitable to haul 2 campers and find a small car to throw on the back and still be legal length.

the guy i bought my shipshe had a stinger welded on and must have had the same thing said he had to cut it off. But i did go rescue some of my family that blew the transfer case by greenriver utah with no problems.

I got an ear-full from this officer about "you camper guys think you can do anything" and he wouldn't let me go anywhere until I unpinned the stinger and strapped it to the deck.

@tylerdunn6578 53' unless you are a 9 car hauler. The stinger adds to the length of the trailer, so he had me at 58'10". I've been going through Nebraska for 7 years and never had an issue until now.

I heard they just started enforcing that this year. Also Missouri will write you for that. But I see cars hanging over all the time.

I really wish I didn't have to deliver to CW but that has been the only loads available lately. The only CW I do like is the one is Sioux Falls SD because I know a few people that work there, and they always have me in and out faster than I can unload.

Both Nebraska and Missouri are very restrictive when it comes to overhang lately, I used to go through Nebraska all the time to bypass MO never got bothered but lately they are on it , unfortunately it’s only getting harder on us and companies do not even care !!!

Exactly. I found out IT sent out emails back in May telling drivers to go around Nebraska. Not sure how to go around when you are delivering there.

Great video!! I really like your setup. When you deadhead from you home to the RV lots in Indiana how far is that ? With the long deadheading are you still making money with the KW and trailer setup?

Finding loads to take out to Indian has been hard lately. We did good on this particular round trip with the motor home on the way out. It is right at 600 miles if I were to deadhead straight out to Indiana. If I can get a load of campers back near my house it is still profitable, but not by much. You wouldn't be able to dead head every time and still survive a breakdown.

Where do you find loads to haul when you are not hauling campers?

@@pineridgegarage If you are leased to any RV Transport company, they all use Central Dispatch for reloads. It's a load board that is mainly cars.

Yup, and they act like you broke some huge law and they are going to be your friend by letting you off easy with a "small fine vs what they could give you". The guy beside me was on the phone with a lawyer about the DOT officer voiding his permit and issuing a $2,500 fine.
