Geeze, I was trying to find spec info on this model, a model I've owned for long while now and recently got broken, bc it's long gone from Huion's store and I wanted to know just how much of an improvement a new tablet would be, and I am learning things I didn't even know about it, like the lack of anti-glare or the pen well on the back. Thought I did some good research back then, but I guess not lmao Oh well, it's served me pretty good over the years and had a decent lifespan before a step ladder fell on it. I'll miss it, but hopefully it's recent descendant models will run where it had walked.

I dont honestly believe in constructive criticism.I do agree that we have to hold people accountable but we can't force anyone to take criticism because criticism is judgemental and doesn't really help. If you want to point our someone out flaws, we should provide feedback, instruction, advice, tips rather than criticism and nit picking. You can believe what you want but nevertheless feedback is more effective than criticism for most people. Everyone is different and we can't change them. Criticism isn't constructive to me. Criticism is judgement and tears down while feedback tells us how to get smarter and better. Criticism isn't positive while feedback and advice can provide solutions to give us new gameplan. Bible never says Criticism was constructive. If it did. It wouldn't said to not criticize, condemn, and complain. I am saying is that you could help someone without being critical. all I am saying is I don't see criticism as constructive and helpful. I can hold you accountable without being critical. EX: if I said you are not a hard working student because you got a 3.9 GPA and you didnt get a 4.0 GPA, that is criticism but it isn't constructive because it judges and doesn't see how you can improve. Here is feedback EX: let's say you had 50 points, 20 rebounds, and 10 assists but you had 10 turnovers, I would say you had an awesome game and you dominated but nevertheless you need to limit the turnovers and calm down, and don't do too much. I just hold you accountable but I didn't provide criticism. I love you man but I don't care what you say, I don't believe criticism is constructive. I believe feedback and instruction are better. I won't listen to the idea that accountability and criticism are the same thing.My point is that not everyone can handle criticism and that is ok. It doesn't mean they are entitled. I just said I prefer feedback and advice because it explains what we could do better while criticism tells what it is wrong and doesn't provide a solution. EX: if I said you are a terrible chef because your meals suck and you are not original with your cooking. That is criticism and isn't constructive because i am complaining and whining. Here is a better way to explain someone's flaws but providing feedback. EX: you are an amazing cook and I love your meals but nevertheless try to not make the same meals every day and maybe add a few spices to really make them pop. Also, we cant force people to change, It is up to them. No one can change us and we cant change anyone.

I'm looking for an inexpensive pen tablet, and I've watched Aaron Rutten's reviews. Honestly, I feel like no matter how good a tablet of another brand he receives, he will find some way to say "Wacom is better" and dismiss all the other brands as "Chinese knockoffs". Like if a non-Wacom tablet has a significant advantage over a Wacom one, he'll brush it aside...but NOT if vice versa! Like in his review of the Intuos when he acknowledged the nibs wear fast because the surface is rough, he just says "it's like drawing on paper - all nibs wear down don't worry about it". But I BET you, if he had the same thing happen with, say, a Huion, he'd go "this surface is like sandpaper and you're EATING through nibs". I know Wacom is the leading brand and they are more expensive because of this and how established in the market they are. Maybe if you're professional this is the best option (especially for animation because they play nicer with software like Toon Boom than any other tablet brand), but they don't seem to necessarily be the best value for money anymore. I know a lot of popular online artists who use non-Wacom tablets and couldn't be any happier with them. Even a couple of them have used Wacom in the past, but still prefer the new brand they have now. XP-Pen and Huion are NOT "off-brand" or "knockoffs" anymore. They are catching up now to become big, established brands now that have made their own innovations. And two worthy competitors that Wacom really needs to take more seriously.

Aaron Rutten is a Wacom fanboy who refuses to credit other brands. Even the likes of the ipad pro when comparing to wacom!?! He always claims( even made a video) that his videos aren't sponsored, yet when you keep watching his videos, there are hints thrown that say otherwise. I used to think he knew what he was talking about because I was looking to get a tablet. But I realise he just seems to be kissing Wacom's ass for some reason. The way I see it, the newer generation, artists especially, are leaning more towards the likes of the ipad pro and surface pro. Aaron fails to see that reality. That's why I prefer watching brad colbow. He knows what hes talking about, has variety of product reviews, is funny, and relatable.

I dream of creating a video game. I've already made a full GDD for it. I almost gave up on that dream after a severe failure in one of that classes i was taking to learn game development. This video has helped to re inspire me. I think that people need to be cautiously optimistic when pursuing dreams though. I pursued mine so hard that I couldn't even imagine the possibility of failure and when I did fail to do something I got so low and depressed for so long that I almost gave up on my dream. I actually did give up for a short while. But I hated that feeling. It felt like I lost a part of myself when I gave up. You need to keep going. No one can guarantee you will be successful and you do need to remember that but if you try your best and genuinely enjoy what you do then you should not have any regrets.

There's also the uncomfortable middle ground of criticism. This usually involves the critic telling you the problems, not giving help, giving contradictory advice, and trying to passive-aggressively push you down

Rewatching this 2 years later is interesting because things have changed and the gap has closed; wacom competitors are more and more high quality and it's more and more difficult for wacom to justify such a high price for their devices, to the point where they had to release an entry level screen monitor with a more acceptable price. But Aaron Rutten is still making reviews in favor of wacom and in some of them it's ridiculous how biased he is. Idk if he gets some deals with wacom but he sure does not provide objective reviews.

What tablet are you using and how long have you been using them? I don’t like that I agree with Aaron bc I bought an artist pro 15.6 tablet and guess what it broke after one year of use it has the same price as Wacom one, and I’ve heard ppl their wacoms last for so long, these Wacom alternatives really are just alternatives.
@helianthe3457

@@yeumu I am sorry to hear that. I have the exact opposite experience as you have. Bought a wacom intuos and it broke only after a few usages. I actually have the same tablet that broke on you, just the smaller model, and tbh you're the first one I'm hearing about having a bad experience with it so I suggest you try to contact xp pen about it. I have been using my tablet intensely during more than 7 months and it's as good as new right now. No matter how good the brand is, sometimes bad products will happen, just like my intuos or like your artist pro. I know wacom is good, it would be foolish to say otherwise. But I think my comment is more relevant than ever. After 12 years of wacom, now that I have gone to xp pen i'm not turning back. I hope you can get a refund of a replacement!

@@yeumu Oh, I realize I misunderstood what you wrote. Welp, guess I'll tell you if mine breaks in 3-4 months lol, but so far so good. As I said, unfortunately you can always be unlucky with these hardwares, wacom or otherwise. That's why I think Aaron's criticism are way too much in favor of wacom.

@@helianthe3457 I still have to agree with Aaron, I did contacted them for repairs but they said the cost would be too much they didn’t even tell me the in-depth details of how the process will be, nor what could possibly have caused the problem in my tablet, they just straight out said “buy a new one” like wtf the tablet itself I realized how uncomfortable I was after finding out Wacom tablets don’t get scratch on screen easily it takes yrs, unlike the xp-pen screen, the pen is also far amazing in wacom I got to admit the tablet was doing good in first months I was stunned and was amazed. You have no idea how happy I am with it but as time goes by it started having minor problems til it broke what really turned me off was the customer support. Just like what Aaron said even ppl from their company is treating their product like trash. And I have to agree. The reply I got was “we don’t know if our product will be durable, sorry for your lost” so if you notice stuff on ur tablet before ur warranty expires better get it replaced. Bc they’ll tell u to buy a new one instead of getting repairs if your warranty has expired. I just gotta say that these alternatives don’t last long I heard similar stories like mine not exactly but similar . I don’t trust ppl who review tablets only for a week, it should be a long term review. Bc you’re using your tablet for a long time

@@yeumu Well, that sucks. Once again I feel like it's down to luck because like, I got a similar issue with wacom. They weren't as blunt about it, but they didn't help me with my issue and the feedback felt robot-like (telling me to do steps that I already wrote I did for my tablet to work)... I understand that your personal experience made you distrust these brands. And I can't deny wacom are good quality either. But that doesn't mean it makes the price ok. There is literally no argument to have there: the price is too high. If you feel more safe buying a wacom and that it's enough to justify paying such a price, that's perfectly valid. But to lump ALL the brands together into shady territory just because they happen to not be part of wacom's private club is not the way to go imo, and that's what Aaron's doing. You can have a bad experience with wacom as well, just like me. And when he's talking, it sounds like it's a guaranteed good buy. It's not. My xp pen tablet doesn't have any scratches, came with many replacement nibs, when my intuos pen seemed to wear off pretty fast (idk how long it would have lasted because, well, the tablet stopped working lmao). So yeah, it's up to you, and you can surely see/find some truth in what he's saying, but he's still not being objective.

Im using wacoms and 5 of 6 Wacom were shit (dead pixels, no answers with the optical pencil, the buttons for the Short cuts were damaged, the screens were dying out of nowhere, not compatible for what I was using, shit technical service, etc.), one of Those were a "cintic 16" gift package that ended up dying 3 weeks after having it .... the only one that has been worth to me since 2012 is the Bamboo. I have tried Hiuon and X-Pen and in love, 2 years and those 2 are still alive and functional like the first day. As the years go by, the "cheap" alternatives of Wacom become better and I think that in the future they will surpass it even in the professional field, I say, that this garbage does not have a monopoly but rather that there is competition for us consumers to win in product quality, functions, price, etc. I know friends and coworkers who have had problems with Wacom and never received solutions other than my experience, but I am not going to say that it is bad and that they do not buy it like some "reviwes" or videos of "my experience with X tablet or brand ", because it can be a very separate case, unique, closed and to many other people this does not happen to them and they do well, it is stupid (as much as they recommend watching other videos and asking for more opinions, not all of a sudden because 1 - 3 tablets of X brand are already dying of the brand or the product and even more so when it is appearing on the market and is new without experience).

Rutten's comparison of the XP-Pen 15.6 and Wacom Cintiq 16 was enough to convince me of his bias. Every area where the XP-Pen device is obviously better than the Wacom (parallax, colour gamut, USB-C connection) is spun around to make the Wacom sound at least as good if not better.

As long as you are not gaming, desktop pc is not really necessary. But for a gamer i think desktop is a must. Because its cheaper and it has better cooling system and all the components like cpu and graphic cards are incredibly powerfull. I have been a gamer and now i am trying to get rid of this addiction. But i have to say that we stupid gamers are the main reason desktop computer still exists. Without us there would be very small percentage of customers who would need desktop computer. Also game devolopers always forces us to have better computer system.

For anyone who is watching it as they are considering to buy this tablet: Just don’t. I ordered it and realised how many features don’t work or are buggy. Scrolling not possible, zooming out/in, even basics like how the device connects (or rather how it doesn’t) and how ‘smooth’ the movement of the cursor is. I have been in touch with the customer service for weeks already and they are not helpful at all, despite me sending them numerous videos of the faulty behaviour of my COAST16. Not answering the questions. It is honestly not worth your money or energy :( As if creative people had so much of it to spend...

Even though it's pretty late to say this, thanks for posting about this. I showed an artist two different pieces of prismacolor drawn birds because they wanted to see some of my artwork and the artist told me that there is not a focus point in the second drawing and that i don't understand focus points correctly even though before that they told me that the first piece of art had a very nice interest point.... I told them "I see that, but I do mind that because, in the first one there is a focus point and I do understand the concept of focus points in artwork, but on the contrary, is there any thing you can tell new that will improve the second art piece?" Though in the long run they didn't answer my question and went ranting about how tipping artists such as myself leave art.... I later told them that I don't only like the regular art but I'm very interested in music, photography, and acting as well. They told me that usual art requires focus and that I should quit all other forms of art such as music and such if I want too be taken seriously as a artist... I eventually realized that this wasn't the best criticism and your video made me clearly understand that :)
