Make sure to look in the user guide because the number of radials needed isn't always 4 on all band.

Yes if you use a tuner it will do 11m. I will try it next time I use this antenna but based on my experience it will be a nice setup but a Moxon may be useful as well

Hi I am new to antennas I would like to know if you could give me your honest opinion on this antenna for Cb covering 10,11,12 meter bands would this work ok I have a small campervan so I think this would do nicely to transmitting and receiving when parked up thanks in advance.

Yes I made contacts with it in spain using a CB walky talky.

The tripod is part of the ground. I believe no rubber feet is intentional. It’s not like the aluminum will rust from the dirt.

Swr is fine with great bandwidth but the tilting is for NVIS use where you need a high radiation angle.

What is the handset microphone that you are using?? I often have issues hearing on outings when people are standing around watching and talking.
@VE3IPS2 ай бұрын
It is a Harris H-250 Military handset modified for ham use. I have several PRC-25 and 77s that use it so I thought to molest it and see if I can make one up. I had to use a different mic cartridge but it was a real pig to wire up. There isW2ENY that mods these for Yaesu as well

kudos for trying activate that park, conditions are very hard these days, not to mention for QRP operations. there is only way to find out that is calling CQ.!
@VE3IPS2 ай бұрын
Yeah thats why 27.555 is busy while 28.400 is dead. Call CQ and see happens but honestly I was not expecting me to break into the POTA activation with 5 watts and a short little antenna
@johnleonardelli_VE3IPSАй бұрын
I almost gave up last activation as I was stuck on 8 contacts then I worked Spain and a US station to get the 10

You got cut off at the end.. on 20m they loose.. a percentage. Any idea what they’re loosing?
@johnleonardelli_VE3IPSАй бұрын
They lose about 60-70% of the power output. 20 watts in only 5 watts out due to its design

How long is the wire you connected to the 935B
@delta225513 ай бұрын
Nice setup with the telescoping mast, I am in the process of getting my general and haven't needed to deploy this type of antenna system before. So I noticed how the wire was attached to the "S" clip with the stain relief incorporated at the terminal PackTena end side, but how is attached to the ground stakes at the opposite end? Is it the same type of termination with the wire being crimped in such a fashion as to create another loop and simply attach it to whatever your using as an anchor?? I apologize If this is an obvious question, I just want to get this right so I don't cause any unnecessary damage to some of the components lol. Thanks and 73.
@johnleonardelli_VE3IPSАй бұрын
One wire goes to ground and other goes to center conductor of balun. The wires have a switch at 16 ft to activate the 40m leg.
