This antenna is the best built with the highest precision of any antenna I have owned.
I worked the YL System net on 14Mhz and also tuned it up on 80m for the ONTARS net and did the NVIS tilt
Its heavy and built like a tank!

I like the tilting. I don't have a vertical antenna, yet. I've wondered about that, so it was good to see. I'm with you that stealthy colors aren't always the best.

The tilting is for NVIS. You want to radiate the signal upwards so it comes back down within a 200 mile radius. For DX, please keep it vertical. Most military Humvees have it tilted to allow signals within a smaller footprint for troop communications. They don't want enemies to hear them even though encrypted the direction finders can spot them.

If you want directionality then try pointing the counterpoise in the direction of interest. You can also use two wires in a vee. There is some advantage but not like a yagi.

GREAT VIDEO...! And tossing out new ideas. What direction would you point the antenna towards when tilting the 45 degree angle - so you could direct the angle of radiation to a specific location, like a yagi...? In other words...if I was trying to focus the antenna signal say to the South...would I tilt the antenna top towards the South...?

Is being closer to the antenna than 10 ft a problem?

yeah if running very high power but at 100 watts the min. is 1.5 ft. I dont operate beside my antenna like that
