Hello, from Minnesota! (Lots of Swedes here!) Your videos helped me to choose to have a SV join my household a few months ago. She's an adult, a retired AKC Beauty Queen, from one of the only two breeders in this state. She is such a sweet and playful and loving dog. And, being a nurturing herder, is like a nurse carer of my older rescue hound. And, yes, when I take her for a walk through the neighborhood I have been asked if she is a Baby Wolf! 😄 Your videos give me ideas about training and tricks, thank you!

@@robinruffner6152 Usually in Sweden there is Halloween and All Saints’ Day in November. Everyone celebrates Halloween different, we like to decorate and go on “spökpromenad “ ghost walks which is scary walks for both younger kids and older kids🎃

2 years ago i found dog in middle of nowhere , far from nearest village. I adopted him, looks like corgi mix, but few days ago I found this breed - and he looks like as vallhund :D - 95% correct. i read about behavior of this breed and its 100% correct like mine. :D

A stray found us last week I guess ? In West Texas. He seems really happy but only tolerates being outside in the heat for a little while, he'll do it because being right next to me is the only place he's ok with going but really he has to be an inside dog in our heat and because they're extremely family oriented. Their heart will break and they'll die if they're made to be away from their people

I have a Vallhund and he's been the easiest dog I've ever trained. No chewing and I had him housebroken in two days. He's friendly to all and eager to please.

As I know it the Swedish Vallhund really is native to Sweden even though there are similarities the Welsh corgi. If vikings brought the corgi to Sweden or the other way around is unclear based on my readings but the Vallhund is known to be Swedish from the beginning 😊 there is a lot to read about this topic but this is based on what I have read

We have a Swedish Vallhund, 16 years old. Today visited the doctors. She is perfect, healthy, and old. Teeth are okay and she is looking like 11 or 12. She really was the "cheapest" dog we could have. She came from a perrera in Spain 13 years before. The best friend for our kids, now grown up (the kids), all the time. Sorry for my english. Greetings from Southern Germany. Love your video.

Urax is a good ambassador for the breed, which I'm new to. I leave measuring cups in my dogs' food containers. The cups help me feed them the right amount.

It’s hard to say because Urax is my first dog and my experience of other breeds are limited but but for me urax has been the perfect first dog. His size is perfect and it’s not hard for me to take the lead, a bigger dog would be harder for me to handle in every situation (dog meetings, walks, commands etc. And it’s just me because I have been working a lot on how to be a leader for him to follow…. He is a lovely family dog and is easy to train, so for me he has been a great first dog, but many hours goes into training😎

Yes, I remember my first Vallhund helping my partner in the garden. Gill would plant a bulb and then move on to the next one, Sophie would dig up the first one, take it to Gill and spit it out in front of her. They are little darlings and I hope to be getting another in a few months time.

I purchased the impress lights but they could not be direct wired on my exterior wall. They were wired with a cord that had to be plugged into a receptacle. I noticed that you have your impress lights on your outside wired directly. Was this a modification you made to the light?

There are different versions of impress lights, some that you context to a 24volt dc converter and some that you can plug in to your main power like standard lamps. Ours on the wall is 220v ac, the rest is 24 volt dc.

Superb video - thanks so much for sharing Urax with all of us dog lovers! My parents are moving far away this year, and taking our dog with them. My work is talking about an "Office Dog" to greet customers & keep up morale. I would be primary owner, only leaving them with a colleague for annual leave. I'm seriously considering a Vallhund for their size, health and temperament. In your opinion, would they be happy 9am to 5pm in an office environment? It would get 2 long walks at around 7am and 7pm, and a play at lunchtime. Many thanks in advance for your experienced opinion on this - best regards!
