Great interview, Jerry! Hershel earned Most Popular Driver in the NASCAR Winston West Series for 12 consecutive years from 1981-1992, and it's easy to see why. He just turned 97 three weeks ago while on a cruise with family, and he's doing well. We're all very inspired by him!

Jr. Should become the president of NASCAR. NASCAR has stalled out in popularity and everyone knows it. Jr. has great vision for the sport to restart it and return it to it's glory days in the late 90s

It was an awards banquet but he wasn’t really getting an award - Justin Allgaier was. Additionally, we need content for feature stories in the off-season and that’s the place to get it. We had drivers and team owners in other interviews that were dedicated to performance, team information, etc. The red carpet is for the fun content because we have already asked them the racing stuff.

No one is talking crap about Logano.. They’re talking crap about his stats and the corrupt championship format that rewards a mediocre driver for that season.
@oktoday8323
@oktoday8323 19 күн бұрын
@@Tommy-cr4tu The stats don't make a champion, it is the ability to overcome a bad start to a season using your talent and toughness, overcoming next gen car issues. The same issues that Chevy and Toyota had in the second half. It is the experience over years of failure that bring success if you never give up and keep improving your race craft. To call Logano a mediocre driver in any format is just laughable, he is a great driver, and you know it. Those stats are very noticeable and earned. You said no one is talking crap about Logano, but you did in your comment.

I cannot tell you how many people were dyed in the wool NASCAR fans for decades who don’t even watch the races any longer and this is not the participants fault, it has to do with NASCAR. My advice would be look what happened to Budweiser.

On a playoff note a Team like TrackHouse(this year's TH) and a driver like Suarez should not be moving on to round of 12. Suarez only moved on because he figured out Atlanta. You shouldn't move on in playoffs because you luck into a single win or figure out how to score max points at one race. Nascar could easily have a playoff knockout format that is more exciting but not rewarding 20th to 30th place cars/teams and knocking out a top 10 car like Truex because of one pit road speeding penalty(note not a Truex fan).

All the longshots can use strategy and stay out or flip it. That's the good thing about road courses. Look at practice speeds an bet now. HMS didn't dominate practice. Ross C, Michael McDowell, Tyler R , Kyle Larson, SVG. One of them will win. I'm on SVG, and Tyler. Top 5 McDowell , Top 10 s Brisco, Noah , Pablo M

It’s simple jordans name and brand is bigger than nascar and they want concessions on the future cause when they start dominating the sport it’s gonna add 20% more coverage globally. Especially in the black demo and jordan knows that. They just won the regular season. They know their future value to nascar

Only 2 teams didn't sign. Front row is not big enough to survive which I prefer the small teams. 23x suffers from being dependent on Gibbs and for having a less than avg driver on the payroll. That's what they get for hiring a driver for marketting over talent.

Agreed. Everyone said that the teams had no leverage. The leverage that they had is that if none of the teams signed the charter agreement that the teams would lose their charters but Nascar has to compensate them market rate on the charters. It would have financially bankrupted Nascar if they had to pay out hundreds of millions of dollars for over 30 charters. That was the the leverage that all teams collectively had on Nascar

100%...I get that teams have investors and worrried about putting people out of a job...BUT!!! NASCAR needs the teams alot more than the teams need NASCAR....Marcus Smith more than likely had a alternative in mind as far as a series..The owners had complete control of this situation and did not negotiate or value themselves that well.
