I got one last week and am selling it. Not a fan of the view finder, the screen resolution is not great, it's slow to load/review photos you've taken and slow to write (using V60 card) it's way too slow. IQ is good, but the cons outweigh the pros to me. Only 3000 shutter actuations and I'm going to try the XT-5.

There aren’t any poorly made cameras made now. We get to choose what we want and need. I am an amateur photographer who does street photography. I want a small and lightweight body. I don’t need the benefits a full frame sensor provides. As a result I use crop sensor bodies. I enjoy using Fuji cameras. Fuji cameras have adequate autofocus but not as good as Sony. I like having the nobs and dials to control my cameras. All camera have jpeg standard looks. Fuji has the best selection with their film similations. My favorite B&W jpeg is LUMIX’s L monochrome D. Just gorgeous. No camera is perfect. Mask On Nurse Marty (Ret)
@martingreenberg870Ай бұрын
The trade off is newest body gives you the most up to date features at the highest price. Older cameras are less expensive but the features aren’t the best. Do you need the highest qualities or the best price? Is there a middle ground for you? Older camera that took good quality images continue to take good quality images. The question is what do you need? For image stabilization for example, is three axis stabilization adequate for your needs or do you need five? I’ve purchase some old bodies recently. I bought a XE1 a couple months ago. Last month I bought a XE2 for $360 and a LUMIX GX85 for $300. I am awaiting the arrival of of a Sony RX1mii today I paid $400. For me I don’t need the latest & greatest gear even though I can afford it. Older gear produces images that are good enough for me. Feature rich bodies don’t appeal to me as I don’t use most of the features. The great analog photographers never had the features we have even on older bodies. Sometimes, especially for amateur photographers, good enough is good enough. No one ever asked Hemingway what typewriter he used to write his novels. Mask On Nurse Marty (Ret)

I agree, the X-E4 is the best. The Fuji X-T10 was my first camera, and it still works to this day. However, for me, it’s a bit heavy and not really compact, so I bought a Ricoh, only to find out that I hated it. I ended up selling it after just two months of heavy use. Most of the images I took with the Ricoh were blurry, and its low-light performance was bad-nowhere near as sharp as my Fuji X-T10 with the 35mm f/2 lens. Since I couldn’t find anyone selling the X-E4, I bought a Sony a6400. While I loved it, I wasn’t completely happy with it. I’m not sure why, but it felt like I wasn’t doing something I truly enjoyed. With Fuji, I feel like I’m making art every time I take a photo. I got lucky and found someone selling an X-E4 with only 1,000 shutter count-it’s practically like a new camera. Now, I’m at peace. Sony makes great cameras, and I might actually buy another one, maybe the A7CII, but I will never go back to the Ricoh GR III. It’s fragile, overpriced, and has bad autofocus.

X-T2 still cost €450-€550, you've got a nice deal for that X-T3. I also jump between format and brands by buying and selling used cameras until I settled with the one that I really like. I still keep my ( bought brand new in 2019 ) X-E3 + XF 18-55 f2.8-4 Kit and instead of adding a used X-T2 or X-T3 and one XF prime, I decided to go back to MFT with mint condition Lumix G9 + Leica DG 12-60 f2.8-4 and Lumix 27mm f1.7 for about €1000.You can of course get good set with Fujifilm for the same price. You can also get Sony or Lumix Full Frame with 1 lens for the same price. It just really all comes down to what makes you do the job workwise and have fun personal wise. Nice video! Thanks!

that x-t3 for 500 euro is a steal, it's still a really good camera and the last of the line to be made in Japan(not that it really matter, but it's neat!)
To just share my experience. A few years ago I got Nikon D5300 because friends suggested me to start with that "I would enjoy that". Got a 35mm 1.8G lens. Looked terrible with chromatic aberration and was still not usable in low light. Got a 18-35 sigma 1.8 lens. Looked okay but had focusing issues. Tried to tune it via this sigma docker and software, but it wasnt a major upgrade. Turns out I am a maximalist pixel peeper and had major focusing issues which means 30-50% of my shots were blurry. In low light conditions it would be even worse and on top extremely noise due to APS-C sensor size. What low-light here means: indoors. Which is where most of the family gatherings happen. There I learned 2 things: 1) These "tiny" cameras are for the layman who enjoy sunlight fotography and does not consider price/value of their purchases. 2) Sensor pixel size, optical stabilization, pixel based auto focus is the key. So for me if I ever get into this DSLR/MILC misery every again it will be something like an Alpha 7 IV where you have giant pixels for low light. 1) Optical stabilizated sensor -> this compansates shaking of your hand and can lower the shutter speed -> more light captured 2) Giant pixels on the fullframe sensor -> increased light sensitivity -> more light captured 3) Sony has/had the best autofocus, especially auto EYE focus and tracking -> when you shoot you dont need to waste time checking the images if they were sharp So no, don't buy old gear. Do your homework and select a combination that matches your expectations. Personally I think it is a waste of money to invest into a "cheaper" APS-C or smaller sensor camera. The overall gain compared to a smartphone (that you already have in your pocket and is always ready, light, portable) is marginal (extra weight, equipment, backpack just for that nice dynamic range) and you would just throw your money out.

I also started at the end of last year and I got a Fujifilm X-T100 (released in 2018). It's cheap because it's one of the entry level bayer sensor camera, but it have a lot of physical dials for easy exposure triangle adjustments, got myself a cheap manual focus prime lens, and that really helped me with learning photography in general. It also have a 3-way tilting lcd so it's quite nice for waist level or low angle shots that I fell in love taking. The only new/upcoming camera I can see buying is the rumored Fuji X-M5, their supposedly new entry level ILC yet compact camera.
