Here's a different perspective from a woman that got back with her ex shortly after a breakup. Me and my ex didn't have a toxic relationship, nor were we on bad terms. After breaking up, he git another woman pregnant and decided to stay and work things out for his family. I still loved him but after 4 yrs, I moved on and met someone else who swept me off my feet. I fell in love fast and thought my new boyfriend could be the one. I was completely loyal and intentional in my new relationship. About 6 months in, things started to change. My new boyfriend went from being loving, attentive, supportive and emotionally available, to being avoidance, emotionally detached and unsupportive. I felt I was carrying the relationship. He prioritized work and everything else above me. We moved in together and it felt more like roommates. After I suggested therapy we even tried for 3 months and I expressed my concerns over our relationship and nothing changed, things actually got worse, I moved out hoping space would help. Even after moving I still tried to salvage the relationship but then he was holding a grudge because i moved. So after 2 yrs, i ended the relationship. I found out that while I was in that relationship, my ex from before had also ended his relationship over a year prior. He became a supportive friend after my breakup and after 2 months I realized he was the one for me, so now we are dating. My ex thinks he was around the whole time but he wasnt.
