I think the Toyota 86/ brz harness has connectors for steering wheel control. Unfortunately my 86 is 2013 and doesn't have swc. I'd say send joying an email and confirm with them, just in case im wrong.

I see that they have single din and double din option for this unit but I don't see any difference between the two? Do you have any insight?

I think single din is mainly for older model vehicles. (Pre 2010 when cars come with only cd players, no screens). Let me know if you think otherwise

Hi Max, In the video i used NGK LZKR6B plugs. It was the cheapest at the time about AU$4 each and good for 60K Kms( according to the menu). Or you could go with Denso IXUH20I which is Iridium platinum. It`s good for 150k kms according to denso. A bit more expensive too. Let me know if I can help more.

@@maxbulkyhulkjust installed it and i’m having a problem with the display. It takes 5 minutes for the display to turn on but the buttons and sound still work even tho the screen is black☹️

Mine don’t what you did? Mine is a brz 2016 I picked the head unit wit Toyota and brz logo. My Oem can reverse don’t work and door speakers don’t work . Also the usb original is no longer working so I guess is part of the installation.

I believe if it works for Android Auto, it works for Carplay. They are basically the same thing with different brand name.

Hah! You already knew that was going to start up before you "tested" it by putting the ignition on, that unit was in sleep mode, they don't start up from cold that fast.

@@angelruano5743I think you can wire speakers directly to the head unit. Just need to figur out the wiring. I`d say contact Joying directly. They are the expert. Their email is in description.

Hey max, I’m planning on buying this but does the plastic trim on the head unit itself come off? I have the suede interior so the piece around the original head unit is 1 long piece so I don’t know how I’d get this to work unless the plastic comes off the head unit. Thanks!

The head unit can be removed from the trim. It's being hold there by 4 screws I think. However, unlike the original head unit, being hold in place with brackets and 4 bolts. This one will need to be inside the trim piece provided to be able to be mounted.

Can you use the unit while making a call? The previously unit didnt allow for the unit to be used while taking a call. For exmaple, cannot use maps.

Yes, just tested it this morning. While using android auto, you can make phone calls and use navigation apps at the same time. Music automatically stops tho.

Unfortunately this dash cam doesn't have built in battery. For it to work, a 12v power is required. The wire can be hidden behind A pillar, so it s really not that bad.

I bought the Xiaomi 14 Ulra model from the company website, the phone sold as global edition was released as a Chinese model. Then the product did not receive GSM signals and did not support 20 band. I sent the product to the warranty, but the warranty told me that there is no mainboard model and hardware support, unfortunately there is nothing to do. I want to send the product back. They are threatening me and telling lies after lies to avoid giving me my money. Be careful when buying products from this company, the product comes differently and do not be a victim.

Unfortunately my 2013 86 doesn't have factory backup camera. I have a aftermarket camera from joying. Stock camera should be plug and play with the canbus provided with the harness tho.

Hi Max, great video, it seems the indicator stick is quite close to the screen since it is so big, would you say this is uncomfortable ? do you sometimes touch the screen by accident when indicating ?

Indicators for mine is on the other side of the wheel. The screen is quite close to the wiper switch. I have no issues moving the switch up and down tho. Let me know if you have more questions about the head unit

@@maxbulkyhulk Is it still working? My non-OEM Dayco belt died after 6 months. When I bought the OEM belt the difference was obvious. The OEM belt felt like a sand paper while the regular belt was soft. I am wondering if your Dayco belt was the same as the OEM belt?

In the end, I just put a little bit of electrical tape on the clips and it should work just fine with stock clips

There is an option in setting about what happens after ignition off. It might be a longer time on yours. Let me know how you go.

Did that fix the issue? I replaced the clutch and hear a tapping sound taking off from a stop. Like a chatters but it sounds like it's inside the center console. Like something tapping on the plastic.

Yes, for me rotating the drive shaft fixed noise but it didn't quite sound like from centre console. Car felt a lot harder to take off tho

How do you get alle 4 sides up on stands? The hyndai i20 only has 4 points on the pinch welds to jack from...? Thanks!

I just jack the middle of the car (pinch welds) and put two stands in each side or sometimes I jack the subframes. Two stands can go in for the back or front at the same time. Jack up the middle of the car might not be the best idea and could be unsafe. Make sure you put jack stands to support the weight before doing any work.

@@betweenframesproduction3968 A 500ml bottle is more than enough for a few brake bleeds. If you want to flush the whole brake system with new fluid, you might be looking at 2L or more. I'm not 100% sure how much the brake system on i20s take.

I believe it can do both wired and wireless android auto and carplay. I used android auto. For wireless connection, you will to pair Bluetooth with the headunit and start car link app( a green icon that comes with the headunit) and it should connect automatically. Let me know how it goes

With my head unit, there are + and - on the left side of the screen as volume up and down. Also on home screen, you can tap on the horn icon and adjust the volume from there. A remote control works too but might need wiring done. Let me know if it helps.
