All you arguments werent your own, you didnt compare the r5 and r6 printout, you didnt compare all-i and compressed video files by yourself. Hi! I'm thinking of buying my first (higher-grade) lens, wanting it to be a 70-200 f2.8 as this suits my style of photography most (horse/equine photography). Within my budget I've brought it down to the following two lenses: the tamron 70-200 f2.8 G2 and the canon EF 70-200 f2.8 II (mark 2). The price difference (used) is about 100€ (canon being more expensive in my country), so it's quite close to each other. But I don't know which lens is the better one...I know the canon is 7 years older, but it does seem to hold up quite nicely. And from the tamron G2 I see extremely positive reviews coming by. But how do these lenses compare? Which lens is (objectively) the better lens when it comes to image quality, sharpness, stabilisation, etc?

I just came back from a rather intimate concert of a band of friends, and the room was so small that I could not get a whole-band shot with my 50 mm 1.2, unless I stood in the very far corner of the room, which was occupied during most of the concert. The light was not really intense enough for the 28-70mm at 2,8 on 28mm, so I am seriously looking into this lens.

What about PWM under 100% of brightness??

I shoot stills only. And I shoot birds mainly. So R7 is a no brainer for me. R8 looks great, but it has far less control and the lack of a mech shutter limits it for fast action/low light. Plus small body and battery.. I got a Metabones speedbooster. Makes for a great low light monster R7 I find
