When I go back and look at my event shots I can’t tell the difference between my r5 shots and my R shots. And never remember thinking about battery.

The EOS R is great for photos, if this is what you are talking about. But the ease of use and ergonomics are a huge factor for me, plus the video features.

The R still have better build quality then the RP,R8. The R even has a top screen. I’m going to buy a new R in 2023. I mainly do street photography this should work. Planning on the 50mm 1.&. The r8 battery is what’s holding me back from that.

Go for it! I'm only selling mine because of video, no where near good enough for what I want now, but for photography, it's great!

What would you think about using it in the studio for portraits? I've got my Canon R6 and Canon 6D as my two main cameras. Also Canon 30d,50d,60d,70d just as back ups. I don't have a FF back up when we are shooting the two FF cameras at a wedding. Really don't need more than 3fps at a wedding, and if I do I've got the R6. I'm looking for a 3rd FF as a back up. And even more than back up at weddings, just using it for portraits in the studio. (Just leave it set up at all times for the second studio) What would you say about the color science on it v the 6D which I think has better color science than the R6..But shooting in RAW it's not a big deal..

This might seem like a basic answer but a 5d mark III or IV are good, Ive heard they have amazing colors

I think any of them cameras will be good enough. I've always said the EOS R is a perfect portrait camera because you don't need high frame rates or anything, the eye track works really well and the 30mp sensor is amazing. I think it'll be a great studio portrait camera

Thinking about buying this as a travel camera with an rf 24-70 2.8, how big a deal is ibis when you have is in lens ?

I think IBIS can help but it's not needed if you have IS Lens. Just try be as steady as you can and shooting in 50p will help to slow footage down and also stabilisation in post. IBIS is nice to have though

@@samuelmaynard84 I bought my EOS R refurbished from Canon. it was a few hundred dollars less expensive and has the same warranty as new. That along with my EOS 5D MkII I am ready for anything.
