I'm glad to hear your honest reason, and I fully support your decision. It's great that you're able to step away from a toxic work environment, especially with such a difficult boss, and finally get some fresh air. 🥂 CHEERS 🍻

Things that have changed since this video was made: 1) a position needs to be open to get promoted, 2) you are selling, not building, 3) RTO is driving away all the great talent, 4) you will never get rich from the stock, it's just deferred compensation.

Thanks for making this video. You’d be surprised how often companies terminate good employees while promoting less capable ones to management. In short, corporate life can be a joke. I hope you've found something better!

I have had a similar experience at Meta. bizarre conversations with my manager. working until 7/8pm every day just to be told I am underperforming, and nobody can even explain to me what the data point is which pushed me under. There is no trade off for mental health. but even having the experience to work at one of the FAANG companies says so much about your character and work ethic. at the end of the day, a job is a job. be somewhere where you are appreciated.

Most toxic company ever I worked for… AWS is ridiculous, you need to be documenting everything you do and write multiple docs instead of doing you actual work… I had similar experience, only my manager was identified as not breaking any rule by HR, another sick org within a toxic org, in my team multiple members left because of that manager. Having said that, AWS is toxic it’s not just the manager their culture is unbelievably appalling and over complicated I would suggest everybody to quit and or to never join

This is way too much. As a Solutions Architect there are 3 things you must be aware of before thinking about this role. 1. It involves selling. If you don't like to sell then it's not for you. 2. You have to know and learn a lot. Infrastructure, Security, App Design, etc. Jack of all trades, master of none. Gone are the days of being able to specialize in one technology or tier. If you don't like to learn and you are lazy, you won't survive long. 3. It's a customer facing role. You will have to give presentations, speak at meetings, give advice, etc. If you are a true introvert then this is not the role for you. My advice, stop thinking success is defined by some role or position. Find your passion and I guarantee you, you will be great.

My guy, you should probably remove the other 3 vids at this point if you're not going to wrap it up properly. They first 3 are great but this ending makes it feel like a bait and switch and stopped me from subbing to your channel, so I think it's probably losing you viewers in the long term.

So : I know you hate the answer...but I will give you that answer. Yet another video were they compare the cloud providers and we get the same answer
@oginsights53403 ай бұрын
They were overapplied. If you don't have a hundred million clients using your singular thing and pull in 1billion+ in revenue, you don't need microservices. Ever since the internet got popular, the industry has become overly susceptible to fads. Not to say microservices are just a fad, but anything can become a fad if enough people jump on it for no purpose. Microservices take a lot of manual development labor to make work so if you're not a huge company, you can't afford it. Monolith for small companies, modular monolith for medium sized companies. Microservices only for big companies.
