Stress can and should be balanced with appreciation for our present. For ex: Being thankful for a resting period when you are looking for a job and stressed by finances, being thankful for having a job when you're stressed out working. We can critique systems and work for a better future, but to live in peace we have to accept and/or appreciate our current state at the same time <3

This topic was absolutely fantastic, & yeah I grew up in LA but damn, NYC has got it. I lived there seven years & on nearly EVERY level New York has just got it. Just saying, although nobody needs to listen to me, I’m just a dusty 40 year old lol. But for real, I think about moving back like every second. Sorry SoCal, I’m definitely right about this, 1000% lol #bloop

I think one of your first sentences is true. You said "it feels like we are all victims to the circumstances around us". I think that this segment of what you said is true. I think the problem is that people have empathy and stop at empathy. You can have empathy for someone and still hold them accountable for what they did. Another issue is that people have empathy only for people they can relate to which is how a personality disorder became the most often used word among young adults. Narcissistic Personality Disorder while damaging to others is at the end of the day a disorder. This means that it's really difficult for that person to understand that they shouldn't do what they're doing. It doesn't develop from the sheer want to hurt/manipulate others. It comes from trauma just like any other disorders. When you're mentally ill, you're stuck in a loop within yourself and it's very hard to get out of. There is literally nothing anyone can do to get you out. You have to get yourself out. I say that to say, being human is very complicated. We've spent centuries trying to figure ourselves out. Unfortunately, self-awareness is not something you can learn to an extent. You either are or you're not. IMO you're self aware or you're not and if you are, that level of self awareness can increase but if you're not aware, you can't become aware because you will only be able to see life through your point of view while wearing rose colored glasses. This is the longest comment ive ever written. im so sorry xD

That's why a narcissist needs a TRUE & HONEST FRIEND to hang in there to help pull a friend out of it or be enough of a friend to help your friend from falling into the abyss of narcissism. I say this often: we need to learn to accept a "NO" as graciously as we accept a "YES."

Yes yes yes! I think people forget that sometimes, even if you don’t agree or understand, someone else’s truth is still their truth. That’s their perspective and that’s what we need to work with in order to come to an agreement and understanding.

All the same answers my parents, grandparents would give. “It’s about the platform, not the person.” So the “person” who leads you and your country holds no weight? And, wait a minute, what about all this stuff about Trump being chosen by God and republicans loving him because he speaks his mind, he’s crash, he’s a businessman, etc. Like, does the person matter or do they not? Are you really just purely about policy? Because you certainly didn’t seem that way when speaking about Biden, Kamala, or back in the day with Obama. This is the sad and somewhat infuriating pattern of modern day conservatives. Their logic will change at the drop of a dime, in order to fit whatever point they are currently discussing. And when it’s your own family, the people that you came from, it is that much more heartbreaking.

As a republican, I found some of your videos on TikTok and figured I’d look you up and see if you had a KZbin channel. I Love your messaging, and think channels like yours are so important for the future of America. I think it’s important that civil conversations between both sides are had, even if we disagree on some things. That’s the only way to spread unity and end all this hate and division within America. 10/10. This podcast episode was so healing. You gained a new follower. Despite my 15-year-old PFP, I'm liberal-leftist leaning, and it has been so hard to reconcile the past two weeks. It's been even harder to figure out how to navigate family who voted differently. Thank you. I look forward to future episodes 💙

I saw your TikTok and now you’re popping up on my KZbin feed. I used to be a democrat & now am an independent. I think that the democrats have unfortunately lost a lot of people from their party. Kamala Harris, for example, acts like she relates to the rest of us, but in reality, she represents a lot of politicians who are privileged and living in a completely different reality than the rest of us. Although so many people are for all the social issues that democrats cover, the current party is so out of touch & they should pick better candidates that are more likable and can engage in important conversations of all kinds, not just the democratic talking points. I didn’t vote for the election because I was an RFK-er, but I think it’s definitely better for us to be having open conversations about how to unite the country again than inciting division. I understand where you are coming from about leaving your family behind because I have witnessed this before. I was medically injured & my extended family lied to my immediate family saying that we weren’t celebrating Christmas one year… meanwhile we saw photos & videos of our entire family together celebrating Christmas without us. The entire reason for that was because my immediate family witnessed my medical injury in 2020 & didn’t want to take the risk of becoming medically injured themselves. Their bodies their choice, right? Our very democratic extended family judged us because of our personal choices for bodily autonomy were different than what the mainstream democratic media was telling everyone to do. This is a perspective that many have seen in recent years, and it is heart breaking to see a lot of the divisiveness coming from the DNC. I identify as disabled because I am due to my medical injury, and ironically, there was no room for compassion or understanding from my own family due to their political views. People see hypocrisy in the party. Not from the members of the party per se, but by the people who are leading the democrats the media, who often tell them that their families are awful people just for having one different opinion or point of contention. It is heart breaking 💔 I understand that there are hateful people out there and maybe your family is one of them, but just because someone has a different opinion doesn’t mean you should always throw the whole person away. I almost died from my medical injury & I lost the support of my family a year later due to what the media was telling them. A lot of losses in a short period of time.
