Yes! I know it was a different day & track and on KD day the track and wind direction could have been different. KD 8F fractions - xxxxxxxxxxxxx- 22.97; 46.63; 1:11.31; 1:37.46 Ohio Derby 8F Fractions xxxxxx - 22.86; 46.82; 1:11.20; 1:37.22 CD's oval features a 1Turn Mile Thistledown's oval features a 3Turn Mile Batten Down ran a faster time around 3Turns than the KD field at the same distance around 1Turn. Further, the colt didn't change leads in the lane and showed no signs of slowing down. What was Fierceness' projected finishing time in the KD? With 5L equivalent to 1 second. His final time would be approximately 2:08 plus. Batten Down won over 10F with 8lbs less in 2:02.49. I know you love Fierceness. But there needs to be greater love for cold facts. GL with your pick. Based on the KD finishing positions. The FL Derby top 3 finishers performed the worse of any of 100 points preps that had multiple entries in the KD. See below: Fierceness - 1st - 15th in KD by 24 1/2L Catalytic - 2nd - 19th in Kd by 40L Grand Mo The First * 3rd - 18th in the KD by 37L It wasn't just Fierceness that performed poorly it was the entire contingent from the FL Derby. What does that reflect about the FL Derby? Fierceness defeated a very modest group, none from this has returned to win a race. To again hitch your wagon to this colt is puzzling. If Fierceness' FL Derby win, with his 110 Beyer and negative 3 1/2 TG Number is placed in proper perspective. The glowing reviews should end. The performance was unreal as the horse's perceived ability which is driven by High Octane.

If FIERCENESS disappoints again, I suspect we will hear soon about unexpected setbacks restricting his capacity to run at his best, and then he will be retired to the breeding shed 1🏇❤️🤷‍♂️

Thorpedo Anna is a cut above the 3yr old fillies & has earned a shot @ colts. McPeek would actually surprise most if he didn't make the move w/ her in the Travers. She'd likely need a career best 2 win tho.

Check Straight No Chaser races where he wasn’t in the 1 hole, breaks are much cleaner. Oddly He draws 1 hole a lot. Second of bench, missed break and rushed up in return race after a year layoff, was in 1 hole again. Been working great coming in. I would prefer Johnny V on him but Fresu worked him out and is more than capable.

A couple of my all time favorite horses have won the Bing Crosby, both have interesting stories. in 1962 Crazy Kid broke the world record (1:07&4) in this race. Crazy Kid had been running in Mexico at Caliente. Later that summer he won the Del Mar Handicap on Turf just 1/5th off the track record (1:47&3) for a Mile and an 8th. Then in 1968 Pretense won the race and tied that world record. Pretense has been lost in the annals of all time great horses. Best horse Charlie Whittingham ever trained. He also won the Santa Anita Handicap. He broke a couple of track records was stakes placed or won from 6 furlongs to a mile and 3/4s. How many horses have ran 6 furlongs in 1:07&4 and then ran 3rd going a mile and 3/4 in the same year with a win in the Santa Anita Handicap in between?

The analysis on Fierceness here defies logic. Freewheeling on the front end? A minimum of 2 horses are going to be sent right along with him, maybe 3. And we know how much he loves being challenged (that’s a joke, he’s a wilting daisy). I don’t think anyone will be surprised if he wins, but picking him based on this logic is just wishcasting.
