The last grizzly in California was killed in 1912 as I remember. You saw a black bear. Makes no difference, never want to spook any bear, any time, any where. They're all carnivores. You need to read up on bear protection. Most National Parks require bear boxes, either supplied by the campground or your own equipment, and over 100 ft away from your campsite if so. Never eat where you sleep and don't lock up food in your panniers. I was riding with a buddy last year near to Mt Lassen and spooked a bear cub, momma had to be near. Now I carry bear spray. Great ride, fantastic video.

Thank you! There was nothing black about this bear lol. I’m sure it was just a black bear. The spot we ended up camping at had bear boxes.

Your story here was the Grizzly Bear. I'm actually siting here hoping you two avoided the bear overnight. Less riding video, more story telling will increase your followers a lot. Title of video is really important in this regard because it can set up the story and draw viewers in to the video. Also, amazing sunset!

I appreciate the feedback! It was a close call with the bear but we were alright. It took to long for the GoPro to start recording so I didn’t get a shot of the bear. I just stopped recording right before we seen it.
