Have you had any issues with water damage to the power steering pump? I put my pump in the same location and it got wet. Rain was running down the hood gap and draining down the two electrical plugs and the pump shorted out.

No, i haven’t had an issue since the install. Maybe heat shrink your electrical connections?

Honestly if I was starting from scratch and didn’t already have an extra engine and Holley terminator, I would have just done a coyote swap.

If you are speaking about the hook that bolts to the head of the engine, then it’s a 13mm if I remember correctly.

Because my car is a 2010. 2011 - 2014 is when they put the 8.8 rear in all of the mustangs, the v6 cars prior to 2011 all had significantly weaker and smaller differentials.

My 1.8l 2006 nc just developed rod knock so im tryina fix it myself, do you know of any differences between removing the 1.8 compared to the 2.0? Great vid also 🔥🔥

This is my first mx5 so I’m not entirely sure. I would imagine you would need a 2.0 oil pan, intake, and engine harness at least.

Hey great video. I'm happy you posted it because I'm about to start helping a buddy pull the engine from his 2011 NC. To be honest, this seems like more parts to take off than from the top, thus more sources of error down the road? Not sure. Not my call anyway, I'll help from the top or from the bottom, but I think although from the top it requires some more finesse to wiggle it out, it seems that more parts stay in place. We'll see. Thanks anyhow, great video.

Glad you liked it! One great thing about doing it this way is that you can literally have everything hooked up prior to reinstalling. You aren’t limited by tight spaces when hooking of hard to reach wires.

No, if you look closely you can see the mounts I welded to the radiator and the I bolted to the body using rivnuts. My intake is custom too, It’s a spin off of the samberg FD radiator/intake.

On E-Bay, they sell a controller for that pump. It's like $60. The pumps supposedly only work at like 70 or 75%. With a small flathead screwdriver, you can turn it up or down. I will be ordering mine next week. I want to run the same pump in my Vic.

Cause the v6 models can be found cheap and a stock 4.8/5.3 or 6.0 will fit with little modification in the engine bay. Even the truck intake clears the hood. I have a 5.3 with a 4l60 sitting in my 2008. Best upgrade i could ever do.

Did you have any clearance issues with your throttle body and hood? My engine is in and I can’t help but think I’ll have to trim the hood some once I get the throttle body on there. Sounds amazing, exhaust setup?

Very little to cut on mine. I did have to shim my motor up a half inch because I’m not using a f body pan. I would think no clearance would be needed if I didn’t have to shim. As for the exhaust, it’s long tubes into 3” x pipe and I have two resonators in the back, it’s pretty loud lol
