I appreciate both styles I really do. But I've seen enough Muay Thai that these styles doesn't impress me anymore.

I have never laughed so much watching a “ bout”. Those moves on the mat are about as effective in a real fight as the poncy he makes each time he gets up from the mat. I would love to see this guy against Kyokushin 🤣🤣🤣

Just halfway into the video, and here is my take on it: karate-do is a sport. It has many competition rules about where and how you can strike and for example there’s no ground fighting no strikes above the ankle and below the navel, etc etc. The Silat guy is getting repeated talking to, and he will be constrained by the rules of sport Karate-do. (Former Karate person here, who is very impressed by Silat and the greater Southeast Asian region’s martial arts. Philippines, Brunei included. From a martial arts perspective I include Wing Chun in that grouping from my own research (lived in South China three years).

I have been a martial artist for 40 years and there is no fluidness in this we would go from one end of the dojo to the other doing a series of techniques and then back again not throw a couple of kicks and punches these guys would get there asses handed to them

We all know how all that would have ended Vs MMA fighters...total disaster for both of them. No real fighting skills...just jumping and kicking too little for real fighting

Das sieht aus wie in den 70zigern 80zigern. Wenn verschiedene Stile aufeinander trafen gab es of merkwuerdige Kampfrichter entscheidungen. Die Regeln waren auch of sehr verwirrend. Keine Schlaege zum Kopf erlaubt. Selbst ohne Kontakt usw. Sobald man ein Bein einfing und zum Wurf ansetzte wurde unterbrochen. Fußfeger wurden oft als nicht erlaubte tritt zum Knie geahndet. Ein Vergleich Pencak Silat Karate ist auch voelliger Unsinn. Es gibt zig Karate Stile. Shotokan ist am verbreitetsten. Gojo Ryu, Wa Do Ryu, Kyu Kushin Kai usw usw. Voellig gegensaetzliche Stile. Vollkontakt, Halbkontakt. Nimmt man noch Koreanische Stile dazu wird es noch verrueckter. Tae Kwon Do, Hap Ki Do usw usw. Wettkaempfe wurden so zu einer Lotterie. Wenn diese Jungs mal zum Boxen gingen gab es was aufs Maul. Als dann die Fußschuetzer modern wurden bekamen die Boxer auf s Maul weil sie mit der Distan nicht zurecht kamen. Gehen die Jungs alle mal zum Ringen, auch die Judo Leude wurden sie ruck zuck zusammen geknotet. Auf der Straße und in Sachen Selbstverteidigung geht es sowieso voellig anders zur Sache.
