OK, I think I have found the problem, with no solution yet. Tuner studio reports low battery (12 volt) my battery is 12 volt, and there is 12 volts at the 12 volt unsoldered test ports on the board, TS says voltage is 2.3 though. So I will have to seek help on what component may be bad or that I may have soldered in wrong that is causing the 12 volts not to get from the onboard test port to the rest of the board. When I plug the board into just 12 volts, with no 5 volts from the USB, the board does fire up and make 5 volts, so the 12 volts is working, but where it goes from there on the board to where TS reads the voltage, it is 2.3 volts. Partial board failure.

Heres another question you may or may not know , I saw there is an air fuel 1 and air fuel 2 and this piqued my interest. I am building a v twin, so I wondered, if I have dedicated separate exhaust and O2 sensor on each cylinder, would I be able to really fine tune the AF to each cylinder via AF 1 and AF 2 using their own dedicated O2 sensors ? I am going to see if I can find that out too. they would each share the same MAP sensor of course.

Hello, I used and referenced your videos when I built my NO2C, I finally got around to testing it to see if it would smoke. Hey! I'm running a speeduino on my turbo setup as well with the exact same iac motor. Just using the cb performance machined block as the housing. Mine doesn't seem to do anything to help cranking, even with the steps at 70 or 80 during cranking and I have it set to idle at 1300 cold and work it's way down to 1000 at op temp. When im starting the car tho, i have to crack the throttle for it to start up cleanly. But when the car starts it idles at like 700 rpm then after 5-10s will jump up to the 1300. It's like the crank settings won't work and the run setting doesn't kick in til a few seconds after startup. Any idea what could cause that? My home steps are 249 and don't exceed 200 I believe.

Hello again, question So, the 24 pin connector, it is the same or similar to the 24 pin on page 161 of the manual where it references the dropbear controller board. That manual section provides the pinout assigned to the 24 pin connector when using that board. Did you, by chance, use this pinout from the manual when you wired yours, even though one could wire it any way they desired. Just curious, If you used the "dropbear" standard, then so will I, if you did not, then I may also rebel and do as I wish :) (tonights the first night I even looked at the manual lol)

I just used my own when I wired it up. I hadn't seen the dropbear when I came up with this one I ordered a case from aliexpress that I thought I could make work but it was to small so I just used the connector. I originally just soldered the wires to the connector and that works but isn't great so than I went to pcbway and made a small board to mount the connector and the wires to so it is more robust.

Hi William, from my research, close loop on a none turbo with no AC and electrical draining systems kicking in and out is an overkill for an air cooled engine. If you are happy with your current open loop mode and setting, you’ve got yourself in a good place. If really wanting perfection with close loop, check Andy Whittle’s vid on “Basic Idle Control and Fixing a Rolling/Hunting Idle). I would also recommend checking out DCWrex video on how to get sequential timing and injection with an NO2C (which seems like a easy pin/code re-assignment), and ideal for your Type 1 since your already have the 7073 Micro Cam-Sync. Would you consider also posting/sharing your tables, as I would be very interested in starting my project with a proven tune that is very close to my own engine (2Ltr Type 2 Bay Window Bus with Porsche Head and Mild Cam)? Cheers Al

Thanks for the video! Just one question. How do I get the Step Time (ms) ? Is there any experimental way if I don't find literature for my stepper motor?
@wjones1972
@wjones1972 Жыл бұрын
Glad it helped. To get your step time you can turn it down until you get missed steps. So for example with my engine warm I only need about 5 to 7 steps for 1000rpm but if it is missing steps it will go up to say 50 and still be idling slowly. So if it doesn't feel like it's responding correctly it could be missing steps. and the error tends to get bigger over time. Most of the time 3 or 4 ms is fine. but you can start higher and work your way down the only downfall to a large number is a slower responding valve.
@andrespareradeniz9797
@andrespareradeniz9797 Жыл бұрын
@@wjones1972 first of all, thanks very much for your almost instant response! so.. let me check if I got it. you are saying that once your engine is warm it needs 5 to 7 steps from the fully closed valve position. So, if by that time you change the step time to for example 1 ms (which is not big enough to make a move) and change "motor steps" to 50 (instead of 5-7) it won't make any difference. That means your step time is too low. Did I get it right?
@wjones1972
@wjones1972 Жыл бұрын
@@andrespareradeniz9797 Kind of yes don't focus on the number exactly. but if its missing steps it will count up or down depending on your valve config without changing idle much. but i think you have the idea when it is trying to correct the engine speed if the steps are to short the commanded steps will change without the valve changing much. I think the main concept to keep in mind is it doesnt know where the actual valve position is it tries to know where it is by keeping track of the steps it commands so if its missing steps the valve will be in a very different position from what it expects or shows.

@wjones1972
@wjones1972 Жыл бұрын
@@aleksantoniak5448 your coil will need to be a smart coil meaning it has to have a driver built in. you will provide 12 volts from key on and ground to the driver and then signal wires to the speeduino are ground trigger normally. if you are using a vr sensor you will need a conditioner installed and set the jumpers correctly it doesn't need any other wiring. stepper idle or pwn idle are different ways of adjusting the amount of air bypassing the throttle to adjust idle for example during engine warmup.

The idle is controlled with a PWM ralenti valve like ford valve. it has 2 cable, is not a stepper motor. The NTC is on left head. I think it is a 4 wire sensor. I hope this information can be useful for you. The fuel pressure is regulated for a vaccum mechanical regulator. Hey William thanks fir the tutorial, where did you get the jigs? I’m trying to do this to my 67 Ghia. Do you know if it changes the overall axis width?

I got the jig's from specialty Buggy Supply. I don't think is changes the width but I am not positive I have only done buggy's so no body to keep the wheels under.
