You have all the equipment available, progress tracker app set for you , you have clients found for you, you have a housekeeper who cleans your work place, a greeter at the front desk, you have a space free of rent and, probably, you have unlimited visits to exercise yourself with a guest privilege. And free shower/sauna/bathrooms/locker rooms that require heat/water/sewage/cleaning expenses as well. I think you might end up having less money if you would have to pay and take care of all that on your own. I can be wrong.

Or become an at home personal trainer, charge extra for the convenience and never worry about any of the points you mentioned.
@milay614029 күн бұрын
@@davidsantacruz1233 not exactly true. you have to find the clients and that involves lots of time. Cold calling, advertisements, driving and you have to be REALY good at what you do in order to get hired by those who can afford you. While the LA fitness takes all that hassle on their own and you just need to be a trainer (no need to be the best one). No driving to multiple locations, just show up at la fitness, they will provide you with the clients.

And they pressure PT’s to make sales and they don’t explain anything. I went because I was told LA Fitness had Silver Sneakers and was free. I am elderly, on a fixed income, and have had multiple surgeries on both knees, one arm, and an ankle fusion. I see PTs are under tremendous pressure for sales and if they have to mislead or lie to get someone to sign, that’s what they do. Please correct me if I am wrong. LAF Corporate put all the blame on the PT who I spoke to on one occasion. I see many lawsuits have been filed but they return to their previous way of doing business.

I had a membership to la fitness in San Diego for a couple years, incredible employee turnover, every 3 months they would hire 10 -15 new sales and training staff, they would start off all confident wander the floor introducing themselves just annoying, you’re trying to stay focused on your workout and a wanna be trainer would walk up and wants to give you his ten minute sales pitch just annoying as hell, they start to get the starving salesman eyes, can’t even make eye contact with them or else they’re all over you and force you to be rude “not interested go away” around two months almost all of them would disappear, sure enough within 3 months they hire another 10-15 trainers and the cycle would continue, so whatever they’re doing to their staff it’s not working.

From what I’ve seen in a typical trainer’s educational requirements to be certified, and from my interaction with them, they are overpaid for the most part. Not all as some are good and understand things like joint safety and protection. …The trainer at the Planet Fitness near me for example (in S.E. Michigan) didn’t understand external shoulder rotation.

Yo Ryan... you are 100% correct. I worked at abot 5 LA Fitnesses in the Atlanta metro area and Miami. The pay is only $6 per session for $12 per hour. But you left something out.... This is BEFORE taxes. So really you are only make about $10 per hour. RIDICULOUS.... Here is the thing. I worked there when I first started back in 2003 and what I did to make more money is I told my TRUSTED clients ... the ones that worked with me for at least 2 months. I told them exactly how much I was getting paid, and feel free to tip your trainer. My clients would tip me an extra $5 or $10 per session to help out. Then I knew I was onto something. So I told those clients, Hey... If you want to really great workout.... like Kickboxing or Basketball drills or Calestinics... just go ahead and shoot me an extra $20 per session and you will get the workout of your life. Not the $6 workout. For $6, the clients would get a ridiculous sorry ass workout... you know... put them on a machine and just count out reps, no nutrition advice, no nothing. Sometimes, I would get young guys that wanted to lift weights and get stronger. I turned those guys into my workout partners. So instead of them paying me, I could get my workouts in and get paid at the same time. Man... I have tons of stories. I then started my own business of running fitness boot camps at local parks. Guess who my first clients were? Almost ALL of my LA clients. They paid me $120 a month for 16 boot camp sessions. I had at least 15 per group. I had 2 groups. and they told their friends. I had to cut back my LA hours in the evening because that is when I ran my boot camps. Money was coming in everywhere. I did this in 3 gyms in Atlanta metro and 1 in north Miami. The point of this is to not feel cheated. Use LA to flip clients into YOUR personal clients. I was all up in clients houses blending smoothies and doing indoor house workouts. Even had one client that wanted to train in her bedroom. LOL. Lots of fun man. Good luck to you

@@RyanHutton1 new trainers only make $6 a session + base rate (7.25/hr). So 1 session is about 9.62 until you become a master trainer. Then there’s the drama of becoming a master trainer nowadays. All promotions go through corporate. Managers will give you specific guidelines to get promoted but corporate will always find a way to shoot it down the first time (often the 2nd and 3rd time as well). I did not get promoted until I’ll called HR to dispute specific shady things they were doing. It’s was wild. Even now there are too many master trainers at my gym for most to be making decent money.

Don’t you only get the 25% boost if you use the travel portal. I don’t think you can count that in when you put the points on the preferred then transfer out to say Hyatt. If you get 2c/pt, that’s an effective 3x return. If you use the portal that’s an effective 1.875 return. I don’t think you can add them together, they are 2 separate redemption methods.
