Very good. Kids know that good instructors know if you have chops within the first measure of 8s. It's so easy to overlook 8s on a hand. But any snare tech worth their salt will know. It's all about the basics.

It could be several things, here’s some tips. The easiest fix is using an identical pair of sticks. Different sizes, weights, and/or beads will change your sound. Practice double beat and stick control exercises at different heights and tempos. Avoid tense playing. Don’t use a bulldozer to move a marble. Stay fluid and relaxed but in control. Record your practice so you can listen to any imbalances in your legato/full strokes and rolls. Hope this helps!
