I believe you can install an oil trap or filter in the line to prevent oil from getting into appliances

Great way to do it. Others prefer others to do it. Your method is pretty nice and very clean! Great to see you like to do everything yourself and not depend on others.

I put cardboard down before any oil change. I do my best to not make a mess and the cardboard catches the rest.

I stopped changing my own oil a little over 30 years ago. Got tired of going to town (10 miles), buying oil and filter, then crawling on the ground to drain the oil and remove the old filter and install the new. Then another trip to town to get rid of the waste oil. Nope, got tired of that. Now, when I'm in town, I have "the guy" do it. I get a 15% Veteran's discount and never have to get my hands dirty.😊

its still messy !! do you burn the paper towel ? Its one of the dumbest 'legacy' things on vehicles. the mentality is 'no, we wont improve oil changing - we want the customer to go to the dealer'
@Tubes12AX7k9 күн бұрын
I don't think I've ever had a "no drip" oil change. I usually wind up filling the catch pan all the way up, and then bumping it, or there's a stray few drips that get onto something that I invariably touch.
@crabbcake9 күн бұрын
its almost impossible. and its esp impossible for most of the heavy handed meat-headed guys who do this.

I have the same Fumoto drain plug, but mine came with a cleat rubber drain line I can stick right into the container I want to drain into no funnel needed.

Thanks for the oil filler tube part number. I've been trying to find that since my first oil change on the 7.3. I have been using Fumoto valves for many years and love how they make for easy oil changes.

Where can i buy that griddle u got ? 😅 Please give me a link ❣️
I'm a RV tech from probably the biggest and most hated RV dealership in the US. I'm there dedicated mobile tech. Customer came in with furnace issues. There was a rodent in the burn chamber. We also replace the main burner (not sure why) and sent customer on there way. Customer called saying his furnace still isn't working right. I go out and tried everything. Furnace would cough and sputter. Wouldn't ignite on its on unless you put you're hand over the intake. Worked perfect out on the bench mind you. Each time id remove the furnaces lp hose id hear gurgling but didn't put 2 and 2 together until I exhausted all the usual suspects. I thought water was in the lp lines. Removed furnaces lp hose from where it branches off the main Line. What seamed to be a quarter quart of oil poured out of the furnaces lp hose. The furnace was the first lp appliance in line after the main regulator. The manufacturer ran the furnaces lp hose with a low hanging p-trap like loop that dipped down below the main line. Oil that is naturally (my believe) in lpg collected there over the 6yr live of the camper until it started effecting the combustion process in the furnace. The furnace fired right up and ran smooth after removing the built up oil from its lp hose. Fixed issue by pulling the low hanging hose up so its not below the main line.

I was wondering how it weathered the storms. We got hit hard here in Gulfport. I am by Bocca Ciega Bay and one tree fell in my yard and it took the whole top off of another oak. I got the yard finally cleaned up but I still have to get that oak tree down....dreading that. $$$$ Not complaining, I am here and I still have a home. Many people don't. I am glad you all are ok.
