The wooden retaining piece of wood is about 3/8" thick and it would be inconceivable that I would hit a bump hard enough to lift and slide the oven without other significant damage to my camper and truck. I feel safe that it is secure enough to travel the country for thousands of miles!

Shouldn’t that wood have been metal so it doesn’t burn the wood or start a fire?

Surprisingly the bottom doesn't get that hot and I left an air space between the piece of wood and the bottom of the oven.

Does the top get hot? Looks close to your paper towels.
