i am 1000% sure that the reason boy groups keep doing acrobatics now is because in the first season of road to kingdom, The Boyz did acrobatics for their 1st round performance if i remember correctly and that performance impressed everyone so much that it basically set the standards for the remainder of the show. and the boyz did end up winning road to kingdom, so i strongly believe that now boy groups think back to the boyz on RTK and are like "yeah we should do acrobatics too"

the acrobatics thing, i think its just safety. a lot of kids do acrobatics in training but the risk of doing it too often without super consistent training is high, id bet the companies prioritize the dancing/singing and only use the acrobatics sparingly. like oneus seoho has been showing flips as his special trick since debut but it doesnt often make it unti the choreos

I'm watching this show mainly for 8turn and tempest so we are starting really good already. Also this show is making me realize just how much i hate "strong" concepts 😅

i just started watching iland2 cuz i found out teddy is producing for them and i would say that this line-up is pretty solid, 6/7 of my picks made it (fuko didn't and sarang did) but that's fine. one of the reason why i would prefer fuko over sarang is cuz sarang is younger and has more chances to debut in other groups, i also feel as though fuko would fit in more of the overall image of the group. i'm surprised and glad mai made it cuz i had a soft spot for her and jiyoon.

It's a fact that boy groups are mostly predictable and similar with each other and that girl groups will always be superior, but I'm sure there will be fun interactions in this show, so I'll be casually following (thru the edited recaps like this, bless you).

For me, the winner of Ace is clearly Junhyeok. I think the same about the groups, too many acrobatics, give us something real. Answering your question is very easy, just like in Dancing with the Star you don't see the same dance as in a real contest, because people don't differentiate if a step that is difficult is done excellently or averagely. On the other hand, acrobatics is easy to watch, more spectacular and the average viewer likes it, it even gives the impression that the dance is more difficult, when it could be the opposite.

I adore The New Six and they're the reason I'm watching but 100% right about the acrobatics. As a former dancer it's always like 'oh, a flip, cool... about you just freaking dance though?'

Im so proud of Just B, although they had to suddenly shift schedules and plans to participate in RTK, and theyre missing a member (chu siwoo), and they have other members of another group with them as The Crew One, I am so immensely happy that Just B can finally shine and be recognized as the talented boys they are.

this video was almost like narrating my own reaction to the episode LMAO😭💖 I also knew only oneus and 8turn, we almost have the same exact personal rankings and i agree with what you said about acrobatics and the performances only being focused on dancing. I really liked the rap part but not the felon concept from younite, the new six really impressed me, i liked tempest they were flying fr but i feel they tried too hard and that caused the injury, i feel bad that cravity couldn't perform but at the same time the ace performance wasn't that impactful for me personally. What you said about the crew one not singing is probably cause they don't have songs together as a whole since they're a project group formed by atbo and justb, but even so i feel like they could've done a mash up of two songs one from each group idk🤷‍♀. BUT YASSS ONEUS AND 8TURN CARRIED THE WHOLE EPISODE THEY'RE SO AMAZING PEOPLE NEED TO STOP SLEEPING ON THEM 🔥🙌

not knowing The New Six, the ace blew my mind. Junhyeok actually showed us more 'ace' then the others. He danced and then sang like he didn't just dance. Like WHAT? And that high note?!?! - also side note, no hate to Tempest, but their group performance seemed way too overdanced. Is that just me? Like it's good to have powerful moves, but they seemed to overdo the moves and it seemed choppy?

Junhyeok from the ace performance was actually on hiatus for 1 year and 6 months due to anxiety. Due to this performance every THX out there was crying 😅It felt like he had let out everything that he felt during the time of his hiatus so it was really emotional
