The key thing is the point of the brush followed ration of brush size vs paper size. Thanks Kellie!

Another beautiful painting Tim Sir. Those 2 boats in front as focal point and lighter tones in the background creates perfect depth in the painting.

I know I'm just one person out of 84k subscribers, but a profound thank you for your videos. I have been trying to learn watercolor for years, and these videos and your excellent narrative have really made a difference for me. One thing I would love to know is the size of the brushes you're using. I skipped back and forth on this video for a half hour trying to see the size of that Raphael mop brush, but I never did see it. Anyway, love your painting, and cannot thank you enough for your willingness to share. From northern Colorado, US (I'm part of the good half of the population, so don't blame me!).

Well the big brush I normally start with is a mop brush and about 10mm diameter and about 35mm long hairs if that helps!

Extremely interesting video, thank you! For some reason, the perspective in this image is something that I find particularly interesting …

And it was tricky going up hill with the old buildings

@ the video inspired me to test out some perspective sketches (just in graphite) … I think I managed to make it work by figuring out what the viewer’s eyeline/“natural” horizon would be and placing the vanishing point for all of the buildings on there (b/c they need to be built on an actual flat horizontal plane) and then placing a vanishing point for the street and footpath (would also apply to figures, and can be worked out from the photo) vertically above the “natural” vanishing point… it would probably have been easier to do it the other way around, dropping the “natural” down from the one that can be figured out from the photo. Not to worry! Thank you for the inspiration!

Thanks, Tim. I'm quite pleased with my result though my sky is a bit darker than I would have wanted.

Fascinating to watch this painting develop. I live in New England and you have captured the look of Vermont.
