You sir are a charlatan. As a professional, career operatic singer and vocal teacher, I implore you to stop this immediately. You are completely incorrect and have no knowledge of how the voice is supposed to work. In fact, in order to sing properly one must do almost exactly the polar opposite of what you are saying. You are causing tremendous damage to young, unsuspecting singers.
