I'm excited to watch this! I wish I'd found your channel years ago! I have really only been able to identify Saidi and Chiftateli and get confused between Beladi, Malfouf, and Maksoum. (I'm sure there are others too!) They seem very identifiable when it's just the base rhythm without ornamentation. When those come in I have trouble distinguishing them.

Amazing lesson, clear and concise. The Remo Renaissance is a good frame drum, with an awesome skin but, unfortunately, it lacks some tension in it.
@asifandcinzia9539 Жыл бұрын
Thank you 🙏🏽, yes it does but for the price it’s not a bad drum
@drthunda Жыл бұрын
This is exactly the video of techniques that I needed to find. How big is the drum you are using? To get a really good crisp almost plucked-like sound, what kind of drum does that best? One with a thinner frame and very thin skin?

Hi Dawn thank , yes it’s just a plain Remo 22” renaissance head frame drum.

Hello Asif! Thank you for your great videos! They help me on my frame drum way! In this video you direct us to earlier videos of yours but after checking your channel I could find only videos starting from video 9 and later. Where can I find your earlier materials?

Hi Mark, glad you liked the class. This was done as a series of lessons for The Nyamba Foundation. I am trying to get more things online. I’m running darbuka classes daily via zoom and playing for my wife’s classes and sound relaxation after her yoga classes and then cooking classes!!! Keep a check out on the channel. Take care and thank you again

I am having a tendon pop back and forth when my thumb isn't on the cymbal during the shaking part. I have small hands. Is there any way to stop it from hurting? Should I modify my riqq? Padding, gloves, foam?
@asifandcinzia95392 жыл бұрын
Do what’s more comfortable for you. Two options, one could be to turn your thumb away from the fingers ( if your right handed turn it to the right ) or place it it on the cymbal. Try these then maybe add something as you said to stop the tendon, e.g blu tac. If that works then add some permanent padding. Sorry this is the first time I’ve heard this happening so please do let me know how you get on. Good luck
